Damn man... So sorry to hear that... Glad you are all ok... It really sucks for your car though.. That thing was a beauty! Hopefully you will get a nice payout from the insurance company... Does this mean we might see a new M5 in your future?

I wish Sid!!! It depends on the payout??? This has never happened to me, so not sure how the insurance pays etc. We have sooo many aftermarket parts, I am not sure how or (if) they pay for that stuff?? Christy and I work together and she will be unable to use her hands for an estimated 3-4 months too??

I dont know who you have for insurance but when I wrecked the M3 USAA paid me for all my aftermarket crap too... Thats how I ended up with a Vorstiener front bumper.... Hopefully they will take care of you...

If you have receipts, and the stuff was recently installed, definitely inform the insurance of those parts and send them the receipts. They will pay you out at least something for them.

+1, I have a friend who got $17,000 from his insurance for a beat up stripped 95 M3. They originally started at like $9,000, but he gave them like $8,000 in receipts and they reimbursed him for everything.

My ins. rep didnt ask for receipts... She just told me to "estimate". Then she added more on top of my estimates lol...

So how do you feel about the response of the BMW safety features? Do you think they did a good job for the most part?

She was adjusting the air vent at impact, and prob the air bag is what cut and broke the wrist and hand bones.. The surgeon said her fingers were almost RIPPED off??
To answer your question Sid, The air bags were intense, They definetaly helped but, I believe they inflicted the damage to the hand, so A mixed feeeling????

Just saw the post Jim.....glad you are both relatively okay. Sorry to hear about Christy's injuries though, I hope she recovers quickly. That sucks, those airbags look like they come out like a rocket!!!! I had no idea. Like others have said, the car can be replaced....be thankful the injuries were not worse.
