H&R Sports question

Just wondering for those who are on H&R Sports, what's the drive like with the UK road conditions? I'm on E-Pro's the minute, the Pros look like it should had been stock, though H&Rs are purely for extra aesthetics, Just concerned whether if I need to crawl over speedbumps and whether my teeth are going to fall out, or my sunglases falling off (not that we see the sun) when I drive over a pothole? Thanks

I'm not sure if the H&R springs are too firm for UK roads, but if they are you will have less grip than softer springs.

Every review I've read of H&Rs is that they are pretty harsh in the ride department....

Apparently eibach sport line offer the drop of h&r but more comfort. I don't think they make them for the 3.0 platform though!

I have sportlines and they don't lower like h&r race and there is no comfort on 19" ,but better stance than eibach pro kit.

No I meant the sportlines being similar to h&r sport. The races are even lower aren't they?

The race's are indeed lower than Sport, would not be ideal for our road conditions, I don't want my shocks blowing up either, eventually I'll probably upgrade the shocks as well

Do you have any pics of your car on the Eibach's? Are you running any spacers?

Here, with Eibachs also running 12mm spacers.

I've fitted H&R sports, but WTF is going on with the rear?? made a thread on the suspension department, but as usual barely any responses.

Any peeps in the UK running H&R?

Also about the ride quality, nothing has changed, infact it seems smoother than the eibach pros.. so its not as harsh as I thought it would, however that rear end is going my head in now, it almost looks stock and the front is pretty much on point?!

I'm running H&Rs on my E93 but on Koni shocks (rebound adjustable) so not harsh for me. But do have to crawl over bumps or it scrapes and struggle to get on my drive due to the angle but! handle good! not to harsh unless i turn the rebound down gets crashy then but it would on any springs

I've had H&R on a few different cars and always found them to be a little bit softer/more crashy than Eibach.
Ive got Eibach and non run flats on my E91 and the ride is pretty much spot on.
Not bouncy nor rock hard, its the best of both worlds and sits perfectly

The ride is fine by me, nothing too drastic, the question is the drop. The car looks near stock on the rear!! but the front is pretty much what I wanted, Rang H&R and said this is how they are, however looking at many many many pictures of the 50/25 set up, and relentless searching the arch should resting on the tyre visually (not literally)

Has something been put back in upside down? I've seen that cause cars to sit higher than they should

I'm going to have to check tomorrow, it look them long enough to do it... However what is confusing is that these are a 50/25 drop, so it should look like this on the rear

I know with standard M sports they're about 15mm lower than standard, however even though it may be correct that a 25mm rear isn't significant, judging by these examples I should had got that height. I really dont know, but I'll check the spring position tomorrow

Did you get them brand new? make sure they are not for an E91 or E93 as they are heavier. I originally had E92 springs on an E93 and it was horribly low and bouncy due to excess weight.

Also spring need time to settle to normal ride height. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

I would say the same thing, if it was one side then I would have said a shock but that looks to me it may be e93 springs which would be harder or longer to make up for the weight of the roof mechanism. they may not be sitting in the cup properly.

Thanks for the repliess lads,

Earlier today I called another supplier regarding the springs because I was eager to get another set and refund these existing ones, Also the original supplier couldn't give a toss for when I explained the situation.

So from the other supplier I rang, what an absolutely most helpful chap and He actually rang H&R himself because I was considering getting another set from him instead, I placed my order though he noticed the coils he stocked had the exact same marking for his listing under E92 coupe 06 -11 They're dark blue springs now as oppose to black, So the information he explained to me From the conversation he had with H&R themselves these updated 50/25 springs actually are now made fit the following vehicles:

He asked H&R why this is the case, we conversed over the engine weight and various cars set ups will have an effect to the overall lowered-ness of the cars, so not prodiving a good estimate whatsoever to cover all these models, he said they even labelled to fit the touring models!

So what did H&R say??? simply replied and said, ''this is just how it is'' So at this point we were both totally shocked with that statement when he told me thats what they said, he further explained how reputable the brand was so this doesn't really help at all for their customers. So for now we've ordered a 40mm back springs only (as advised) and see how they go, extremely helpful chap cleared things up for me and went through the effort to speak to H&R himself. Right now I will probably just leave it as it is,

I will get the tools out tomorrow to see if the springs are indeed mounted on properly..

Like I said before it does state that the drop is 25mm at the rear, given that our M Sport suspension already lowers the car by 15-20mm, I assume the max on ours is around 5-10mm if we are going to go into speficifcs, however judging by the pictures and the endless late overnight researches I did, I was absolutely set with 50/25 also your car ESSEX_LAD they seem to sit just perfect, so it just proves my initial decision to get them, Though I understand your springs are black

Yes they are, I got them from a mod shop on eBay. I know people say let them settle but mine dropped straight away, there is Defo something wrong with them springs. H&r could have even labbled them up wrong. Might be for a 6 series or something.

There is a chance, the springs are marked 29187-1 such a farse, anyway I'm getting my new wheels fitted so I'll see how things go later when I jack the car up and look at the springs
