Weird shifting after flashing with Cobb

I've noticed that when I flash a map into my car with the Cobb V3, that the transmission acts strange immediately after. Typically, it will try to start off in 3rd gear from a stop. If it's warm, it usually figures it out and then starts shifting normally.

When it's cold, it takes awhile to figure it out. I can shift into manual mode and downshift into 2nd or 1st, but the transmission actually stays in 3rd even though the display says M1 or M2. And then sometimes it will completely drop out of gear and go into neutral. I'll give it a couple seconds and then it will go back into gear

Eventually it will figure it out and its 100% normal until the next time I flash with the Cobb.

Is this supposed to be happening? I figure the flashing process is messing with the computer so the transmission acts with caution until it knows everything is ok.

This is indeed normal. There are several components of the factory programming that go into a failsafe mode of sorts until enough data is collected and stored from a few starting and driving cycles.

As long as you are eventually getting normal behavior that sticks, I wouldn't worry about it.
