First BMW, first post, first mod. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi

I'm Omar and a new comer to this forum, having owned my 07 BMW E92 330i coupe for little over a week now. It's an automatic.
Any tips/advice/help would be greatly appreciated
My first question is, when in park, key out and the car locked up, the park LED on the gearbox stays lit, is this normal?

My last car was a Toyota Celica Gen 7

I am really loving the BMW, it's an absolute joy to drive! I will be doing a few subtle mods (tints, aerolip) I'm not afraid to tinker, my fav mod on my last car was my iPad Mini float mount install on the centre console.

I have the iDrive system in my new car, so no need for an iPad install, however the iDrive is fine for phonecalls over bluetooth but it can't stream music (A2DP), so this was my first mod and cost less then £7.
You need 3 parts
-Wireless USB Bluetooth Audio Stereo Music Receiver (comes with aux lead)
£4 ebay item no 151264190059
- Belkin Car Micro USB
£1.50 ebay item no 231012628032
- Right Angle 90 Degree USB 2.0 A Male Female Adapter (China)
£1 ebay item no 390836263839

In the arm rest

You can also take it one step further and add a remote control if like me, you keep your phone in your pocket.

This controller for iOS devies was £8 when I bought it, but it's not gone up to £9. Targus Bluetooth Media Remote Control ebay item no 111261518001.

Hopes this helps

Thanks for the warm welcome Mr Rauf. Will get some pics after a good clean, been raining all week so far!
Quality is spot on, like listening to a CD, the only draw back I think of is it only works when the engine is running, otherwise there is no power going to cig lighter.

Thank you Mr Ben, I will check my car later tonight without unlocking it to see if it's still lit.

I was going to do this a while ago so I've just added ask the parts to eBay although the delivery is over a month for the USB adapter so I've sourced another

Brilliant idea on the audio, im going to do the same, cant go wrong for that kind of money. Quick question, in theory can you pair your phone via bluetooth to a ps3 remote?

Welcome aboard, looking forward to seeing a bit more of the car!

Hello 'name sake'

I also have an Omar private plate lol

Re Bluetooth audio, if you have idrive then you should contact a member on here called Makkan aka Sam.

He can add an integrated combox with Bluetooth audio through idrive with album art etc - I'm sure the signal will better quality.

Welcome mate.

Can also find Sam here : https://m.facebook.com/makretrofits

@ Mr Ben - yes you were right!

@ little johno - can you give a link for other users?

@ Andy Dutton - in theory yes, but only if you jailbreak, they have game controllers that officially work now anyway (moga ace power and logitech powershell) but for media control, what I have works perfectly with no jailbreak hassle.

@ Omaragha - thanks for the tip, do you know how much its costs? Quality is fine this way too. If you need a second private "Omar" plate, I have another on retention.

@ e91boi - you can pair multiple devices with android/iOS. I toggle my BT on for my iPhone, it automatically connects to iDrive, BT music reciever and my media remote. When a call comes through, the music fades to a pause, iDrive alerts me of the call, after the call the music automatically plays again.
