I realise the possibility of a false economy, but I trust the sellers word on this occasion and I will also honour the offer I made elsewhere - which will give me a spare one if need be.

Hopefully that will be it, but if not I can get DW to change it again and still be quids in.

Matt

so you bought 2 hpfp?

Very cautious aren't you mate!..

Darren Woods are excellent...shame I live in london and it took me about 3 1/2 hours to get there last time...

I think they do valve cleaning aswell....

I've got a slight issue with turnover on cold start up so it sounds like it could be this....

Fault code reader didn't bring up any codes so was at a bit of a loss.

What's worse case scenario, it won't start one day?!

Potentially won't start.

Much worse case is it stops whilst driving... Depending on the road this could be dangerous. If you get progressively longer cranks then it's
worth replacing. Generally diagnostics/logging will show issues.

Oddly it's been fine today when starting in the cold (10 degrees C) so I will see how it is for a day or two. Clearly seems to be going though.

Kev I'll buy a second one so I can be safe in having it just in case. All depends on price etc but I'm comfortable that what I paid means I can sort the problem again (if need be) and if I should sell the car before the problem recurs, I'll sell it on for what I paid to help someone else out.

Personally, I've no interest in seeing anyone on here pay 300 to BMW to correct a recurring problem which they should long since have corrected. Fuck the man, man. They won't get a penny of me for diagnostics either.
