Iono about you guys, but whenever I open the door on my e93, I'm afraid to ding other people's car because the door seems to be a bit longer.

People = garbage for the most part. That bitch would have come back to a completely caved in door (or more) if that had happened to me.

That's when the CCW Law comes in handy in TN JK'ing.

That sucks...not much you can do b/c she could've charged you with assault if you forced her to stay.

Yeah, but that's as bad as what she did. Not worth it, IMO.

sometimes i feel that is the case. But you should look at the overall picture. Do you want to get justice and end up dealing with bigger issues. Anger sometimes is hard to manage, but you don't want it to cost you too much.

I hate inconsiderate people. I don't care about people who says they don't care about cars etc. Sure that might be their policy but they should respect other people's cars/property etc.

I think you handled it maturely.

You should have slashed her tires, key'd every body part to the metal, broken every glass on it, broken every light on it, taken a massive shit on her hood, and peed on her seat. That would have taught her a lesson.

It's good that you're ranting here instead of filing a police report or setting her car on fire. It is just a minor scratch, are you really going to make her pay for touch up paint? What about just repainting the whole door for the scratch?

She is at fault, but i congratulate you for keeping your cool. An apology is the LEAST she could have given you. Nevertheless, shit happens.

I give you a ton of credit. I know for a fact had it been me, her car would need some good body work starting with the 1/4 panel with a size 11 imprinted in it

Yeah pretty much this. A lot of people don't generally care about minor dings and scratches, especially if they've had the car for a while. Someone who opens their door into your car while knowing you're in it... that person will most definitely not give two shits.

That would be the route you'd have to take. They're not going to go after the lady for dinging your car. She's not going to prison. Be careful about retribution though, if you do decent damage and they catch it on CCTV or something, then you're looking at vandalism. And cops do respond to that. I don't really recommend any sort of action against the lady. None of it is going to fix your car. And most of the possibilities she'd probably never realize anyway (e.g. denting her car in response).

In the end, just know this won't be the last time. Get to know your PDR guy and just realize that giving the lady the finger and getting your car fixed is probably the best you can do. If you didn't give her the finger originally, that's your loss though.

I see your point (& agree that damaging her car isn't the answer). If this happened to me and the person was apologetic and reasonable about it (and it was a small scratch) I would be inclined to let it go entirely. However, when someone damages my property and then blatantly ignores me/acts like a bitch about it, game on. I would have no problem pursuing the living crap out of someone, legally, for damaging my property and then having the audacity to be an asshole about it to my face when they are clearly in the wrong. You can't be passive about everything or the terrorists have won. (kidding, of course, but you get my point).

Sorry to hear about the situation
I would have done this until she was a bitch, then pulled out the valve stem tool from the tire kit in the back and removed all 4. 4 flat tires, no real damage. Even be nice and leave the valves on her trunk lid. Its a massive inconvenience but is only really damaging if they are stupid enough to drive on flat tires.

We used to do this as a mean ass prank among a group of friends that would really screw with each other (short of causing any monetary damage).

The door got a super small scratch that will compound/buff out easily. I'm not going to say I kicked her door after a second of getting madder and madder. But all I needed was a simple I'm sorry. Bitch didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was there. I know that people don't care about anyone else but good lord. And I DO park as far away from anyone as possible. Unfortunately in a garage there's no where to go, I always park on a corner and make sure my tires are on the line so I'm as far away as possible. There's defiantly not enough damage to go any further with this but needed to vent!

This is the best advice actually. The point on a pen cap works well.

A valve stem core removal tool is best, as alluded to above. I had friends who used to use those to get back at people who did stuff like that, or just as a great general prank. It's a small tool so it's best to carry one in the vehicle if you don't already.

This happened to my girlfriend a couple years ago some bitch did the same thing to her Z. She walked away as my girlfriend said something to her... Well this was in a private parking lot and my girlfriend noticed the person that dinged her door didn't have the proper parking pass so she called the tow company and waited outside with one of her male co-workers. When the woman came back out (about 15min later) her car was gone! She was obviously mad and my girlfriend gave her an earful about her being a disrespectful POS! Lol. As I recall my girlfriend donkey kicked that woman's door too!

I parked up next to a 2008 mustang, at the gas station, who taking up four parking spots. The guy looks at me and says, laughing and giving me a dirty look; "Ha, my sister in law drives one of those." He taps his cigarette.

What I thought about doing: I tip my sunglasses up and said; "Yeah? And she probably makes more money than you, right?" Lol. It was so funny. Asshole.
