Clutch upgrades for N52?
well, the gearbox at least
basically, probably going to need a clutch that can handle a bit of power in the next few months, just wondering where the best place to get a stronger one is (35i strength at a minimum)? clutchmasters do good work? |

Clutchmasters makes a good product. Unless you are constantly launching the car or planning on custom forced induction of some type, the stock clutch should be fine. Just ordered a Luk clutch at 92k for my e90. $250 shipped.

I’m very happy with it. Big improvement over the original clutch.

SPEC is based out of a suburb called Hueytown, here in Birmingham, AL. Hueytown is where Bobby Allison, Davey Allison, Neil Bonnett, Red Farmer, etc are from, if you follow NASCAR at all. Not that they're related to any NASCAR people that I know of. Just trivia. Anyway, I had a SPEC stage 2 in my daily driven Celica All-Trac for 9 years until I sold the car, and never had a single problem with several AWD launches along the way. Highly recommended.

Also do I need to change my flywheel at the same time, I heard you can refinish them but some people dont recommend that. Any input here?

As for the flywheel, it depends on the condition of yours upon inspection. You mechanic should be able to tell whether it can be saved. But if you have over 100k it's better to put a new one in while you have everything out. |

SPEC has been around for a long time and are also big in the e30/e36 scene. I wouldn't hesitate to go with one of their products if they made one. I have a SPEC clutch in my e30.
