Gas mileage numbers 330i and 335i owners?

So I did a little research and I got an oil change, used the bmw fuel additive, and chevron gas only for the past 5,000 miles. Over that time I've averaged 24.0 miles to the gallon. Most of my driving is city, and I drive aggressively. So should I continue to pay the extra 10 cents a gallon that chevron generally charges or is this better gas mileage in my head?

Doesn't seem that it's hurting anything.

06 330xi with 85k I get anywhere from 14-16 mpg mostly city. I have no idea why it's that bad either. I just dropped in a K&N and cleaned my MAF so hopefully things will change.

The 330i is EPA rated 20 city / 30 highway. I've tracked my mileage every tank for 76,000 miles now. I know, OCD.

One thing I found is that the computer always overstates the mpg, but that's another topic you can search here sometime. The long and short of it is that depending on how aggressively you drive, in the real world you should see around 16-19 city, 28-32 highway... pretty close to EPA rating.

My 335i averages 25.4 MPG city and on the highway it'll average 29 - 30 MPG. I was on vacation last week and did a road trip from Tampa to Altanta and back. During the 920 mile round trip, it averaged 30.5 MPG (worst 29.4, best 31.3) while cruising between 70-75MPH. I primarily use BP gasoline. On the way home from Atlanta, I topped off the tank with Exxon and I didn't notice any difference in the MPG highway average with BP or EXXON gasoline.

I'd try a cheaper gas for a few weeks and see if it drops before I kept paying extra $.

In true city, like a stop light every 1/8 mile or so, the 335 sucks down gas. I'll usually get around 17mpg sometimes less depending on how heavy traffic is.

On the highway, it'll do 29-30mpg at 75mph though.

Everybody has a different definition of city. "Suburban" city will let you cruise for some good distances to get your mpg up.

BK, you said "The 330i is EPA rated 20 city / 30 highway. "

Those numbers are the original EPA estimates (which are in line with what I get with my car), however, they revised the methodology and the numbers, so that the 2006 330i is now rated 18/28. Not that different, just thought you might be interested. More numbers can be found here:

335i I usually get 450 to 470 on a tank... That comes out to around 34 mpg... 90% highway... I only drive aggressively when I speed up... In the highway I stay on my lane and put it in cruise control...

330i. On my stock 17 w/ RFT I could get into the 30s and avg around 27 mixed. On my staggered 18s with re760s(reviews of poor mpgs) aggressively I get 22-24 hwy Mac 28-29. But I drive 82 ish on freeways and turnpike.

I had 3 E90s

2006 325i, 2006 330i, and now 2008 335i. All of them got the same mileage. 21mpg roughly all city driving.
