Opinions please - moving to Elipsoid Style 162 BMW Wheels
I'm up-sizing from 17" wheels to a set of BMW Elipsoid Style 162 wheels on my 320d SE.
I can either have 4 wheels all 8J and 225 width tyres all round or a staggered setup of 8J/225 on the front and 8.5J/255 on the rear. I'd be interested to hear opinions on which to go for as I like the idea of the staggered setup but the 255 rear tyres a lot more expensive and provide more resistance and increase fuel consumption. But, they do provide more rear grip. My car's a daily driver and although I love to drive, I don't push the car to the limit or do track days. My commute is a mix of roads with some enjoyable twisty bits! Many thanks! |

Square. Your 320d will never need a 255 tire. It's purely for looks at this point...
