I had the non RFT RE960's on my car for light winter driving and found them to be decent in every respect except they way they handled sharp bumps with the E92's sport suspension. In my opinion, they were just too stiff and jarring on bad pavement and I ultimately took them off long before they had worn out. My Conti DW's and Michelin PA3 winters both ride far more comfortably.

This is a good news. I just hope the price can be lower. I don't know which ones I'm using. Maybe someone can tell me? 2008 E90

Anyway, I really want to read some Michelin run-flat tires reviews. I have heard some people (Roundel) said that Michelin's run-flats are more comfortable and last longer. I really want to try them, but the price kinda scare me off. That is why I am switching to conventional, but hopefully one day I can feel comfortable buying Michelin RFT. Either they lower the price or i get better paid job. I hope it can be both though

Well, they cost only twice as much, but in the first 5000 miles I had to replace two of them.

Finally get to see why rft's need to be replaced if they are driven on when flat. Now it makes sense, if I get a flat I'm filling it with slime and inflating it right away, save myself $.

Finally replaced the Bridgestone's with Pilot Sports (PS2 ZP); what a difference. It is criminal that Bridgestone has been the only 18" RFT option until recently. This comparison would have been better with Michelins and maybe the new zero pressure Pirellis.

Another fan of the calipers. Also can't believe they came black from the factory. I am also planning to get mine painted. I was thinking either bright yellow and VO would look good on my AW car.

Also interested in more info on the hood.

I am not buying the 'as they become more popular' argument. They have been on BMW vehicles for six years, and I have yet to see the price drop.

Plus, it is no excuse to also not give at least a space saver spare.

"For those drivers who worried about being stranded, the attraction
of a run-flat tire is its extended mobility..."

Yeah, I'm worried about being stranded. I'm worried about my runflat stranding me! That is stranding me on a road trip, where I have to wait 1 or 2 days to get a replacement runflat tire.

And exactly how would i be stranded if there was a spare?

RFT ... No thank you .... on my Z4 3.5i they cost me 2 cracked wheels I will never touch another RFT as long as I live.

Sorry BMW, your competition (Mercedes Benz) tried your RFT idea then gave up I wonder why. My plans had been to purchase a new generation X3 as my DD then the cracked wheels, RFT and disappointing service of a US Dealership, Customer Service in Canada and the USA as well as follow up by my local BMW dealership spoiled all of this and my DD business went to MB (more details in my Z4 garage on the cracked wheels).

The only reason I purchased this 2012 M3 is it does not have RFT also I have driven BMW's (now on my 7th) for over 25 years. For my money RFT should be an option and not a take it or leave it deal on all other BMW's. Period. You may sense my anger toward the RFT idea and you not be mistaken. You would feel the same after being stuck 2 days in a small town USA spoiling your vacation being lied to by BMW dealerships and in the end paying close to $1000.00 on new wheel, installation and expenses for the fun of it.

This ^^^ +++ 100, only once you experienced this can one appreciate how how frustrating it can be waiting for the tire (or wheel) then on top of it all (as it was in my case) being taken to a ordinary tire shop since the small town BMW dealer sells high ended cars in the $70K plus range however does not find it necessary to have tire changing equipment and uses inexperienced people at local tire shops that mishandle and bend your wheel so that it is declared BEND in the end and you end up with not only the inconvenience nut also the bills.

Oh this gets my blood boiling ...

I've had my e92 about 8 months now. The last few months I've noticed a vibration that feels as though it's coming from the passenger front wheel. Its almost as if there is a hard spot on the wheel. The faster you go the more you feel it. It's worse when it's cold but I've also experienced it on some warm days. Am I likely experiencing the normal behavior of RFT's or could this be an unbalanced tire or a cracked rim? I'm going to call my dealer but wanted some opinions here first. Thanks in advance.

Slime would clog up your TPMS and makes a mess of the wheel
