Recommended maintenance for optimal performance?

Hey Guys,

I got a 335i with 55k miles on it, Im gonna send it to the shop soon because when i accelerate hard the car starts shaking like a coil is broken and its fixed if it turn it on / off.

Is there any maintenance or checks you guys recommend I should ask for in the same time for optimal engine performance?

btw got vishnu v5, afe dual cones and autowerke blow off on it.

Besides normal stuff like changing out the Lifetime Fluids?

If you have a manual transmission Redline D6 will smooth it out.
Intake Port/Valve cleaning.
Google Mike Miller maintenance schedule for guidelines.
The shaking sounds like and actual problem.

The shaking you are describing seems like it could be a misfire. When was the last time your spark plugs were changed? Also, are you throwing any codes?

Probably doesn't apply to you, but I just do what iDrive tells me.
Other than that, I keep it clean.

At 55k miles and shaking on acceleration, you almost certain have carbon buildup in the intake ports and intake valves. That will need to be cleaned. Do a search on "walnut blasting" to see what I am talking about.

I had a similar problem and JUST finally fixed it, though yours is probably different. I had the same problem as you, and cleaning my intake valves (did it DIY style) fixed it. But then it came back a month later! Replaced spark plugs and coils, no effect. Then went to replace the injectors, and one of them was damaged! Part of the mounting tab (a small piece of metal welded to the side of the injector) was broken off, causing it to come unseated under pressure, I assume. I'm not sure how cleaning my intake valves fixed it temporarily, but that was the root problem.

In summary, clean your intake valves (DIY or pay someone $700), and look at ignition/injection components for that shake. Also, take it to AutoZone (or similar) and they will pull the codes for free. That will help diagnose.

50K+ miles.

Oil change, air filter change or service, new spark plugs, walnut blasting of the intake ports.

IF you got some extra cash or misfire are still there, change the coils aswell, and all new injectors if the misfire and coldstarts arent good. (don't forget to code the injectors, and make sure once the seal is removed to install the injectors asap)
