What I have:

2008 335i with Sport Pkg

What I want:

A trouble free tune for an extra kick. I don't track or race. I want an easy install/uninstall option due to CPO. Don't need it to be the fastest car running, just a strong upgrade from stock.

What I am thinking:

COBB
CIA
OCC
Angel Eye upgrade (Don't know which one....sticky was long and started a long time ago...Thoughts appreciated)

I run 93 Octane without tune, so will continue in that manner....no interest in meth or E85

What I am doing to prepare for tune:

Oil and Spark Plug Change this am
Had them check the light cold start rattle and now car is going in for a few days when I have my winters mounted in November...said they would take it out and take care of issue. (new turbos?)

Emailing with VS in Illinois (Kenny seems very responsive) to schedule Walnut Blasting 48k on car. I will also have them install items to ensure it is done right. He suggested I wait on the appt with him until dealer is finished with my car in Nov.

Jeff @ TopGearSolutions seems very responsive so I am going to reach out to him when I order my parts.

Have I made the right choice for what I want? What should my gains be approx?

Thanks

Jb4 ! One time not so difficult install, change ur plugs every 20k and continue to maintain her the way you normally would. The steering wheel controls are money

I agree, JB4. Map 1 will give you that kick in the pants that you're looking for and for the lowest cost. You can easily find a used one in the classifieds for $400 or less with USB.

Jeff's a good guy so you can continue dealing with him. Install of the JB4 can be DIY'd so save some money there. And if anything, you can easily drive stock (Map 0) when you don't feel like spending the extra mpg.

Enjoy, it's hella fun and hella addicting!

You have a solid game plan and you should stick to what you've planed. I can see this easily turning into a tuner war as that seems to be the case with a lot of the threads on here, but take it from someone who has ran all three tunes you'll be satisfied with Cobb (what I'm currently running).

Angel eyes I'd go with Burger's LED upgrade for price and looks

As far as approximate gains each tune stock for stock with 93 oct will bring about 50-60 WHP over stock delta and 60-70 WTQ.

Yes, stick with your plan. You'll love the Cobb and the simple flash feature and I would only recommend JB4 if you want to use meth in the future. Then again there are Cobb tuners that can help integrate meth with Cobb if you so desire in the future. I used the Cobb AP on my 135 (Stage I then II), plenty of power.

FYI...just remember to delete the flash before you go in for warranty work one week in advance. This will give your ECU plenty of time to be in the "ready mode".

racing stripe. doesn't void warranty and will add at least 30hp. I would have done mine myself but didn't want to paint over the edge of the tape so I had a paint shop do it for 25 dollars. If you want two of them, you'll need better tires to keep traction and it will cost probably like 50 bucks.

Another vote for JB4. I cannot live without the gauge hijacking that tells me my boost/IAT's/Coolant temp's. That and the fact that you can leave the car in map 5 and it will autotune to your gas, environment, and mods. If I feel like running E85, I do it, and it automatically adapts.
