Suspension Wear

Hey guys,

I have an '07 335i with the factory Sport suspension, after just over 6 years I have put about 130k miles on it. Issue I am facing is that my steering goes out of true, that is to say - the car's alignment is good, the car tracks straight with no pull or drift, but the neutral position for the steering wheel gradually becomes off center by 5-10 degrees. I'll get an alignment, and it's OK for a couple of months, then I'll need another alignment.

Pretty sure that I need to get some suspension work done, but before I take it in for this, wanted to see what are the parts most likely to be in need of replacement.

Yeah, I had a similar question in mind. I have 59k miles on my 335 and I feel like some parts of the suspension may be worn out and need to be replaced.

Any suggestions on preventative maintenance for the suspension?

unless you bend/break or replace a part of the suspension you should never need an alignment. The fact that you did indicates that something is worn out or bent/broken

Its hard to say what in particular it is for your car, but the first place i would look is at the front tension strut bushings. If these have never been serviced on your car, i can pretty much guarantee that they are blown at 130k. However it is possible that something else is up. The only way to know is to get the car up in the air and inspect all the bushings and ball joints.

Also if you're 130k with og shocks/struts you should replace them i busted mine around 75k and 83k so you probably need to change them. You might think about upgrading since you are gonna pay the same amount about have kw v1 if you have any questions about them lmk
