Full-race N55 manifold

Guys, just got a reply back from Geoff that they have an ETA of Jun/Jul 2013 for their version of a bigger turbo N55 manifold

What else would need changing? You can't just swap out a turbo.

the larger manifold would be great - but, my turbo is at the wall - regardless of the header size - that darn turbo has to go if the header gets modified. and yet, still... I'm intrigued...

Just looks like we are starting to get some action in terms of exhaust manifolds to mount a bigger turbo. I'm suddenly not as disappointed in the development effort for our platform

If the ability to tune for a larger turbo existed, you guys would have turbo upgrades already.

Just wondering though, why wouldn't I be able to tune for a full rpm range if I can hold 17-19 psi with a procede or jb4 to redline?

Ehm... You live on another planet?

What would you like to work on:

1. A easy-to-tune engine that isn't durable...

2. An engine with good potential that IS durable!

The single turbo N54 of Shiv is still not really working... Next year the N55 will surpass the N54 and will leave it behind...

I would like to believe that but it won't. The n54 is tooo far ahead. Also the n55 engine in our e90's are also a thing of the past. I think the f30 n55's will soon attract all the tuners and aftermarket companies..And as you know the two engines are not quite the same..

Because 17-19 psi on a larger turbo would be a much larger volume of air, and by nature need a much larger volume of fuel. Thats just one of many, many issues in terms of tuning the engine. In the end turbo upgrades are just hardware, which a handful of fabrication shops can tackle with minor inconvenience.

agreed. some of us who are already FBO and tuned can easily reap the benefits of a larger turbo and manifold. At the present time - it IS the limiting factor (at least in my setup it is).

Yeah, why not? Its just hardware? Hell, you're in Jax florida - Call up stage 6 motorsports off phillips and University and ask them if they could build you a custom turbo set-up. The answer will be sure, not a problem - How the hell are you going to tune it?

I dont understand what you are saying though... we have tunes that can deal with much larger volume of Fuel and air... our stock hardware isn't the issue just like the N54 can deal with much larger fuel supply and in fact the same jb4 and procede units to handle it...

Currently as madmanhiker said... the ONLY limiting factor is that we are running out of breath with this small turbo... we have everything else to deal with tuning once we get a bigger turbo
