Smile Got my new '09 335i Sedan

Hi guys,

I finally got my 335i two days ago from CarMax. Kinda funny that I received it after a lot of problems on 10-10-12 which is 2 years after I lost my '08 E60 M5 . I know it's kind off a step down from a M5 to a 335i but you gotta know that I have been driving a 2007 E350 for 2 years now and that car is just suuuper boring. It's comfortable but super boring. Now I am extremely happy with my 335i sedan. I also did some minor mods so far.

335i not an M5 but also extremely nice.

Well... it's not "as special" as an M5. And of course the M5 is way more aggressive especially since I have always only driven it in M mode, and it sounded very nice with the Dinan exhaust and software. However I like the 335i because it is smaller and more agile. Once I go back to Buttonwillow I will see how the times compare to my last M5 and Audi R8 V10 runs. It's not quite the fun you have with an E60 M5 of course, but it would be my second choice.

Since I haven't had a Bimmer (in the US at least) for about 2 years (except for a 335is test car for 2 weeks) I really missed it, and I am more than happy to have a E90 335i now.

Agrees that the C class is boring. I drove my friend's several times.

Pull the whiskers out of your grille for a more aggressive look!

What Dinan mods did you have on your M5? and is that your M5 in the videos?

I hear people say the C-class is boring all the time. Are they saying that because they compare it to our cars, or is it boring even compared to like a honda accord?

In my opinion plain boring. I drove the C350 and the new C250.
The C350 was pretty good, but gearbox on both was clumsy and slow (like all Mercedes cars I Drove) and really in terms of driving nothing to compare to a BMW.
Another thing I absolutely hate about MB and Audi and many others is that they don't let you FULLY disable the traction control. In Mercedes cars you always have it on even when it's "off". I don't like the fact I buy a car and then limited on what I can do with it.

BMW still let's you.

I had a 330i ZHP and told my dad since 2008 that BMW are back in the game and stepped the competition up with their new engines and interior. He finally listened and got a 335i M-Sport coupe and he is not looking back for a second. For reference he had an A8 and a Mercedes S550 before.

I said I had the E350 not the C. And yes, both are very boring cars. The E is reliable and comfortable if you want comfort from A to B but just no fun to drive.

1.Porsche
2.BMW
3.Audi
4.Mercedes

I have a black grill on the E90. Just like I had on my M5

Had the Dinan exhaust and stage 1 Dinan software. Was pretty great. Couldn't get rid of a "increased emissions" code.

Yeah that was mine. That's why I posted it

The exhaust sounds great. I just bought an 09 335xi in June and have stage 1 Dinan software and love it. I hope to upgrade to an M5 some day. Good luck with your new 335i!

Thanks. Totally agree. I don't like Mercedes.... they all drive boring except for the SLS AMG, which is much better than I anticipated. However the AMG's are slowly getting stronger and their designs (CLS, CLS SHOOTING BREAK) are getting better too... slowly.

Thank you. Ya the colors are great. I wouldn't want it any other way. It also has every single option there is to this car I believe, except for the M Sport package

If you hit 198 mph in 6th gear he must have had modifications to his gearbox. 6th gear ends at around 170 mph with extended rev limiter to 8400 rpm.

Haha funny picture. Can feel the intensity. Glad you were able to enjoy the V10

And you can see there was still some more RPM to go....
