Dirty Wheels

Wow, with only 280KM on the car, my wheels are BLACK. Anyone have any advice on the best way to keep my wheels clean?

The wheels are clear coated, just like the car, so wash them and put a bit of good quality wax on them. Then every 3 days or so you can just spray them with water and most of the dust will come off.

Ofcourse this is not as good as just washing them every few days. Get a dedicated sponge for your wheels and some Meguiars all wheel cleaner, it will just take a few minutes to keep them sparkling

If the wheels aren't clear-coated, use a light mix of kitchen degreaser (or Simple Green) and water. DO NOT let the wheels soak in the solution. Always immediately rinse. Otherwise leaving it on for long periods might dry-up the tires.

I find that the 162 Wheels are so easy to clean. The arms in the wheel are generously spaced fo easy cleaning with a sponge.

I think it will be necessary to clean the wheels more often than the cars itself.

Griots wheel cleaner I used is so far one of the best wheel cleaners I ever used. I used a bunch of them in the past. It is also approved by BBS wheels i think. I forget wat the sitcker says. Only problem with griots you have to order from griots garage, they don't sell thru retail chains.

I've just been using a wet microfibre cloth and a little white vinegar if it doesn't budge.

I am a big fan of griots but the best of show wax is a pain in the ass to remove. I like the results from it though.

Thumbs up Re: Groit's Best of Show Wax

You must have put too much wax on if you are having trouble removing it! Follow instructions..... use very small amount and
you will have NO problems removing any Groits Products!

That is true, I used it by hand. I paid for it dearly. On a Porter Cable everything is easy to put on and take off.
