What to do with your badges after, well, debadging.

I followed the DIY directions on this forum for debadging (blow dryer -> goo-gone -> dental floss -> wax). It was super easy using picus's DIY (Located here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=19, here is my reply: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=88)

Some people don't like the asymmetry of the badging while some people want everyone to know what the drive. In my opinion, people can tell which car you have with or without the badges, so you don't need them. I normally don't mind badging, but the placement on this particular model isn't great, so I removed them and this is what I did with the otherwise useless badges:

Here's what I did:

1. Before debadging, slide the adhesive side of either masking tape or post-it notes up under the badges, sticky side on the paint.
2. Using a pencil, outline the emblems so you'll have a record of the spacing between each character. I did this only on the bottom of each character and it was enough to get perfect spacing.
3. Follow the DIY on emblem removal. Remove all adhesive from the backside of the badges.
4. Buy a blank license plate frame with a wide enough area to fit the badge. I got a decent chrome one from Target for $6.99. I am sure there are others out there as well.
5. Lay out the characters on the blank plate frame using the tracing as a guide and a straight edge to line them up. Once you have decided on a location, tape the straight edge to the frame so it wont move.
6. With a minimal amount of GOOP (an awesome multi material adhesive) glue each number/letter to the frame, making sure you get all the "legs" of each letter. You don't want to use too much so that it squeezes out, but a little is excess is okay because it can be removed fairly easily before it sets.
7. After 24 hours of setting, install on your car!

looks good, but isn't the point of debadging to not have the badges on the car?? jk.......I like it.

That would be the point for some! I just did not like the location, so this was a good altenative.

looks good, but i think putting the badge on a black or darker plate holder wouldve made it stand out even more...
