OEM or Hawks HPS pads?

I have a 2008 328xi. I just found myself a set of 335 front and rear calipers to retrofit into my car.

Which have better bite and grab? Oem or hawks HPS?

OEM pads will have a stronger initial bite. I had ceramics but switched back to OEM because of this

Will be switching to HPS when my OE's are gone. From all the reading I've done on pads, OEM has slightly stronger initial bite. Other than that, HPS has similar characterisitics to OEM with a little more torque and less dust. No bad reviews of HPS on this forum that I've seen.

OE may have better initial bite but the Hawks will perform better. The Hawks may not have a really really good initial bite but the more you will press down the harder they will grab.

I've used Hawks before and they were great.

This really had me debating. I really love the initial bite of the oem when I tap on the brake pedal.

I have HPS on my Mazda and initial bite is day and nite compared to oem BMW pads. Like most of u say, step on pedal hard and it stop pretty decent.

I just can't decide. Lol

i had HPS on my b5 s4, they were pretty good!

I was in the same predicament a week or so ago, between HPS, Stoptech , and EBC redstuff. i went with redstuff based on some reviews. I have high hopes!

HPS can't possibly put out more brake dust than OE lol so worth a shot

I'm going with HPS as a replacement for my OEM pads too. I was just looking for something with similar or better braking feel as OEM but much less dust, as the amount the OEMs make is way too excessive

I've had the HPS for over a year and am pretty happy with them. initial bite is very close to stock. It is noticeably better than the other "low-dust" ceramic pads you see advertised. I've been very happy with the HPS so far

I have had HPS, HP+, and now the Performance Ceramic for my DD. HPS will dust much less than OEM and can handle higher heat characteristics than OEM. Slightly lower initial bite, but much better torque charactersitics (as you press the pedal harder). I would recommend them for sure over OEM.

If you need pricing, let me know...we are a Hawk Dealer.

OP you should look into performance friction pads and see if it fits your needs
