Tremendous find. I had to wait months until I could locate a used M-sport E90 with low enough miles for me to buy (<20k) and a six-speed. I can only imagine how much rarer a bird the E91 M-sport 6MT is! Great work, and beautiful car.

Congrats on the 6MT wagon. Very smooth transmission on a sharp looking car. Classy color combo too.

I had to special order my 2012 E91 6MT (saddle on space gray, mine with Xdrive as I lacked the balls to drive RWD daily in rural NE Winter) and I've been enjoying every minute of the last 10 months and 21k miles behind the wheel. People don't get the 6MT up here. It's like driving a manual Odyssey. The wagon gets more road and wind noise than the sedan, but it is less bouncy over bumps and shows less oversteer on those freeway on-ramps. Sat in a 2008 the other day with 167k miles and it sounded like new with only new tires and oil changes. Not a rattle or a whine. I hope you won't want to change yours any sooner.

I picked up my 2012 E91 in May. LeMans Blue, Black leather, manual transmission, M-sport, AWD. I did EU delivery and put almost 1300 miles on it in a week while driving through DE and CH. Mine has a May 2012 build date, and is apparently one of the last off the assembly line (E91 touring production had ended when I toured the Munich factory on May 30, 2012).

I took delivery from my dealer in early August, after the car arrived stateside. The car now has window tint, black kidneys, and 18" BBS RS GTs. (BTW, I ditched the run-flats, and it rides MUCH better even with the lower-profile 18" tires).

I get the same reactions out here in Seattle as you. Just not many around. i can't help but wonder how many they actually imported in 2012....

Fresh from the factory, hotel parking lot, after pickup in Munich on May 30, 2012:

Many more pics of the car, the Welt, The BMW Museum collection, and the overall EU delivery experience here, for anyone interested:

^ can you post a quick pic of the RS-GT wheels on your car? Just a cell pic or whatever today? Specs too? Was going to buy them but went with an Apex group buy instead. Thanks!

Here are three. Just crappy iPhone pics, but you get the idea. These are 18s, staggered. Purchased used with Pilot Super Sports, wheels in almost-new condition, tires less than 1K on them. For a price that was about 35% of retail, I'll live with a few minor stone chips....

Have seen both here in the UK, and us being Right-hand drive we dont get all that many models.
(No x drive at all for example)
The only US E91 models were the 325i in 2006 and subsequently the 328i for '07~'12.

Personally, I would have loved to have a 330i wagon but am still very happy to have found my MT CPO '07 E91 a couple of years ago. It is the perfect daily driver.

OP, congrats on your new ride; enjoy!

PRETTY car! Welcome to the e91 Club special reserve 6MT section! Looks like it has nearly everything you could get on one, other than the megabucks wheel options.

I always wonder about traded-in one-year-old cars - why did it get traded in? How could the original owner not love this car? Especially as it is about a 95% chance that it was ordered.

A similar car (2012 E91 BSM/beige 6MT Msport Nav) was available for purchase in November 2011, when I have placed the order for my E91. It was on the boat at that point, headed for a Long Island or MA dealership. Another E91, similar specs but white was on a dealer lot in the same area. I did find those specs surprising. There must've been some demand for them in the NE.

I purchased my E91 from Automaster in Vermont, where 3-series wagons are not rare at all. In ole' Saabland wagons do share the market with SUVs. Automaster was the only dealership within 500 miles that had production slots available for the E91 in its last 6 months.

The original owner had the 328i wagon and a R8 V10 cab manual. Traded both on a TTRS. Some people just flip cars. Go figure ...

New to BMW (well sort of...)

Hi all,

New to BMW (well sort of...) and I've been lurking around this forums for the past few months learning as much as I can of the brand/models. Thanks for all the great info the forum members have dispensed to the larger cyber community! This is such a great asset!

I've been targeting to purchase a lightly used X3 with manual transmission (since you can't purchase SAV's new without an automatic these days) and came across a 328i sport wagon at our local BMW dealership. It never occurred to me to shop for a station wagon... Grew up with a 1966 Chevy Chevelle, blue, three on the tree and distinctly understand the usefulness of this body style. However, SUV's seemed to have taken over my conscience, the rest of the US population too.

We have two Hungarian Vizsla, and need the back space to chauffeur the dogs around. Needless to say, "I pulled the trigger", probably paid too much, but I live on an isolated island in the middle of the pacific with a population of less than 200K. You learn quickly to compromise and move fast on things that show up on island. However, in this case, I'm completely happy with the car after the first few weeks of ownership! Well, except the sound level of the gong... and yes I tried to adjust the sound level in the radio menu system to the lowest setting with no change.

The specs... 2009 328i sport wagon with 8,500 miles, tasman green, saddle brown leather, xenon, convenience pkg, front and rear parking sensors, heated seats, iPod/bluetooth and 17 rims. Not a photographer but below are some pictures.

and its stablemate... 2011 MINI Clubman S... I really like the driving characteristics of the MINI, which lead me to acquiring the 328i sport wagon. I guess I'm a two wagon house now (with a 2004 Toyota Tacoma single cab 4x4, to do the dirty work)

For those that have no clue on what a Vizsla looks like... the passengers in the back that will leave millions of nose prints on the window and countless small red hairs on the soon to be purchased cargo mat... here is a photo:

Saddle brown coat and green collar, could there be a color theme here...

From what I've read, the sport wagon is very rare in the US. A sport wagon with a manual transmission is an oddity. To the OP'er, a sport wagon with a manual transmission and M sports package is a museum piece, great find! I wish I stumbled on a M sports package wagon, but I'm happy to settle with the car I found. I guess a club needs to be formed or some secret handshake for owners of these scarce vehicles in the US.

Final comment, I found a lot of people don't feel the "love" for the tasman green color within the forum. I can see why, as I don't think it would have been on the radar (like a sport wagon) as a potential color (vehicle) choice if I was relying on pictures. However, I'm glad that I didn't order (spec) this car, as I would have chosen a safe color scheme. I find tasman green to be very appealing in person with a brown interior as an accent. The color is subtle, almost a grey with a hint of green. It becomes more green in the sun, less green when it is cloudy. I've received lots of complements on the exterior color in combination with the interior saddle brown color from parking lot admirers and friends.

With much aloha,

I don't think that's green in the last picture.

It looks more like space gray or brown.

Very cool find, I was similarly lucky a month ago when I happened upon an '11 E91 M-sport/6mt in Space Grey with 9k miles. Didn't think twice about dumping my '10 335i xDrive (auto) for it. Love that yours has nav/iDrive, mine doesn't and I miss that feature as I had it on the 335.

Love the touring though, got some 18" black O.Z. Ultraleggeras for my winter wheel/tire setup, I'm using Dunlop Winter Sport 4Ds. Love the shorter shift lever on the M-sport cars, I thought I'd be missing the 70 bhp that I left at the dealership, but with the manual I honestly don't miss the extra hp, and the E91 with the manual is a more engaging than the 335i with an auto.

Aloha!

Almost my car's twin. I have Tasman Green on Chestnut Brown, with the light burlwood trim. Which is not very light at all. And I DID order mine this way! Also six speed manual, RWD, and no NAV (also pretty rare, it seems). Indeed, these cars are unicorns in the US. I wish I had your roof rails, mine is an '11 and has the useless new style low-profile rails that you need the megabucks BMW accessories for. I'll swap them out someday.

I splurged a bit and bought the BMW Performance Intake and Exhaust, probably doesn't go any faster, but my goodness it sure SOUNDS faster!

Absolutely beautiful pups too!

Nice E91! I've put 46K miles on my 2011 328i ZSP 6MT since I picked it up July 2010. SMB with tan leather. I kept the options light: Just the "value package" (free leather), ZSP (best $2K you could spend on a RWD E91!), heated seats, and factory alarm.

If I had to replace the car, not sure what I'd do. I don't think that the F31 is going hold a candle.

That is a beautiful auto. I'm a bit confused though, you did say 328i with an M package? If you did, and forgive me if I'm wrong, doesn't the 2011 328i still have the NA 3.0l I6 that only makes 240HP? So, and pardon my ignorance, what's the point of an M package? I mean if it's appearance, great, because the car looks fantastic.
