E90 LCI M-sport... Deleting brake air duct for all oil cooler duct?

So i was looking at the e90 lci M-sport passenger side air duct.

It is a one piece air duct, that within it seperates into 2 paths.
Top path (half) for the oil cooler, and the lower path (half) for the brakes.

Here in the pic, you can see the air duct for the brakes is larger and more biased towards where the air is headed.
I was thinking of blocking the path for the brakes, and making this a one path air duct for the oil cooler.

Gonna size a piece of plastic using oem push pin/clips to mount and angel it up towards the oil cooler, so the air has a nice smooth transistion biased upwards, while blocking the air going towards the brake path

The path to the brakes as we all know isnt a direct path and unless the wheel is turned outwards, never gets to see any cooling with this duct. Alot with it being far away from the direction of the brakes, its in the air if these ducts really even do work? Anyone have any input?

So thats basically my question, how important are these brake coolers? Do they really help? esp in DD? where i do 90% of my driving.
