another thing to take into consideration, a million wont bring a building back that was ruined, but that child, mother, and father that now have clean water and food which that "only one million" donation funded, will appreciate EACH AND EVERY PENNY.

Before we point the finger saying "they could have done more" ask yourself, "did I do anything to help those affected by Sandy?"

Nice gesture but how about covering the warranty on my car as well? I'm in need.

However, how can a company as big as BMW "only" donate $1mil? That's a cheap publicity gesture. The BMW brand gets more support from public, and they don't even see a dent in the wallet. I'm not saying they HAVE to see a dent in their wallet because at the end of the day they are donating, but how much can $1mil honestly do? SMH
I've got to agree, especially considering the US market is the one bright spot in BMW sales lately. China sales are contracting and Europe is even worse. We're basically keeping their growth going so I don't think it's unreasonable to think they could have given a little more.

It is a great thing that BMWNA donated $1 million. Its not like they have a surplus of funds like some other company and not donate anything. These companies that don't help and have more money than the US deficit should be ashamed of themselves.

After having to be shut down themselves for at least a week, they go ahead and give 1MIL to help. I truely commend them for this and this shows how great of a company it is.

The company headquarters is based out of Woodcliff Lake, NJ....

Northeastern port is based out of Port Jersey (Jersey City)

Theres the Baltimore port and DC offices

Theres the BMW/MINI of Manhattan store (owned by BMWNA)

All these locations were affected by this superstorm. The New Jersey locations were still shut down as of friday.... and some of you are complaining that the 1MIL isnt enough...

This storm definately affected the company financially, and still, it makes sure to give 1MIL to the victims, and i'm pretty sure its just a start as the company has a history of helping out in events that havent even occurred in its own backyard....

Such a great and noble act from BMW. Those who are criticizing, I tell them: "go ahead and donate $1 U.S. before you criticize."

BMW didn't have to give anything, and the fact they did is truly generous (regardless whether it lowers their taxable income and gives them positive publicity). All the people in the forum bashing BMW's donation, I'd like to know how many of you donated?

As a NJ resident I'd like to say THANK YOU BMW!! The money will certainly go a long way, and help us get back to normal.

There's so much destruction that any amount of money helps and a mill can provide many people with food, water, blankets, temporary shelters. Any person or organization should be commended for donations. 1 dollar or a million it all helps. Being from Long Island I would just like to thank BMWNA

I'm honored to be part of the BMW team and that corporate decided to donate. As a resident of one of the hardest hit places on the Jersey Shore, I am thankful for any amount given. I work my butt off for BMW. Thank you for giving back!

did anybody else donate more ?

edit: http://www.inautonews.com/toyota-and...s#.UJfo6KU1bFI

BMW and Toyota are the only car companies to donate $1M, everyone else was less.

GM should have donated $1 Billion, seeing as how they took it from the government.
