E93 Heated Seats

Wondering if front seats are equipped to provide heat whether the option is ordered or not?

Is this something that could be easily achieved when purchasing a used vert?

I really doubt that the heating elements are there if the option is not spec'd. Who would buy a $50,000 convertible and not get the $500 heated seats!? It so obviously expands your ability to drive with the top down. Even in a warm climate the nights can get cool...

A good chunk of the new/used verts in the southern states do not have heated seats.

I'm asking the question to see if it will allow me to expand the pool of cars to consider.

  • No, seat heaters are integral to seat covers. No heated seat option - no integral seat heaters in covers.
  • You would need to buy/replace the seat bottom/back covers with the heated versions, Plus add the Heated Seat Buttons to the row of buttons on your dash, plus hook up the appropriate wiring, plus code your car to add heated seat option to your V.O., plus mebbe need a new seat module - all doable, but way expensive/PITA to retrofit.

If you want heated seats - buy a car that has them...

Thank you. Great Information.

My search will only include those E93's with heated seats henceforth...

Good idea. The heated seats option is pretty effective in reducing the annoying noises coming from the front passenger seat area on cold days.
