Florida Window Tint....

Hey everyone,

The window tint laws for Florida are as follows:

Front Side Windows 28%
Back Side Windows 15%
Rear Window 15%

Id like to go with a tint that would not cause any problems with cops, but i also want to go with the same % tint all around (no SUV tints). My thoughts are to go with 25% all around. Do you think this would be dark enough? I need a tint really badly, since my black leather and steel shifter get crazy hot after sitting in the sun for 8+ hours...

So, what are your thoughts? Im a young guy, and the cops around here are assholes to anyone with a nice car, so i really dont want to be their victim

Thanks for the input.

Is it true that our cars come with a factory 93% tint or something weird like that? Ive heard that somewhere...

You'll be fine with 15% all around.

they do have tint that is built into the glass... but if you are worried just do 15% as suggested above and do a strip across the windshield..

I seems as though you answered your own question here.....you don't want law enforcement to clamp down on you, so go with what's legal. I am also not a fan of different % tints on different windows, so 25 or 28% all around would look great IMO. You have a dark interior so should be dark enough, but again, everyone's definition of "dark" is different.

Go 20 all around. It looks amazing, classy, and even. Any darker looks cheap IMO, and any lighter isn't really worth it to me.

I went 50% ceramic all around. No need to go dark with a quality film that blocks out almost all UV. Especially if you have self dimming mirrors, at night visibility in those would suck.

I opted for "limo" tint. I also use a sun visor in the windshield religiously. It's too hot down here for anything less, in my opinion.

Miami rider here. 15% all around. Not a single pull over. If I had choice again it will be 5% 50% windshield.

I have 15% all around except my windshield. Never had a problem with them here in Miami. I am even debating of doing a light tint on my windshield right now. I do have to say at night, with auto dimming mirrors, it gets a bit hard to see through my rear view mirror. But I like the privacy.

If you want it to look classy and elegant, I would suggest 20-25%.

I'm 15% on the coupe doors, 5% everywhere else.

cops don't mess with BMWs unless you're black with your windows down. Oh wait, I just thought about what happened to me out loud.

I'm in Miami.
