Any Ideas on whats going on here?

Engine has gotten full service , replacing plugs , injectors , vanos solenoids , new Rob PVC valve upgrade , oilfilter house gasket , fuel ,low pressure sensor.

New waterpump and thermostat , fixed broken wires for thermostat and new connector for waterpump.

Cleaned the intake on head.

Tank had 1/4 of 98 octane (europe) and mixed with E85 , ratio around E30.
Filled another 10 liters with 98 octane before startup.

The pump in tank has been upgraded with Walbro 455

When everything was put back together , the car cranked for a few sec , no start , then tried again , no start , then one more , small short starts before dying , read faults in INPA Throttle faults only , deleted fault.

New start and same , short start and then died , read error , cam shaft sensor inlet error 2A9A . Deleted and tried again , then started up and ran little rough so I gave some throttle and ran it at 2000 rpm for few minutes , then let go , eased down to 650ish rmp.

Ran another fault reading , no faults.

Now today after some driving I had one redused power , and now at end of day after filling fuel I had some more faults .

From INPA

Did you code the new injectors?

Yes I did code the new injectors

Yes , Im guessing new O2 sensors are needed.

Gonna head over to a BMW tech and get it verified before I go order new ones , but strange that both banks report this.

Car started backfiring a lot after leaving gas station and was driving down a small hill .
At the intersection waiting for green light , I had to put it in N and rew it to keep it alive , and jump in D when green.

But again , the car has 87 000 km on it , and its a 9/2006.

Hope its a quick fix

Could be a vanos issue as well... Check your work before buying anything

Im too tired to keep up

But I have used solid clamps that are crimped on with special tools , nothing there will come loose.

But just in case , have come off in the past ?

Come off or split. I just skimmed whole thread but if you have Cobb, view low pressure fuel actual and see what values. At idle it should be around 73 psi.

I do have a Cobb AP , not used it yet , will look into it and verify that the walbro job is still solid. But I would think if faulty in any way , it would result in lean , not rich fuel codes

Finally I had time to investigate , my job with LP fuel pump upgrade , everything is rock solid.
I checked the PVC valve , so verify I didnt mess up anything there after installing the upgraded PVC valve, all ok .
I did find a leak in the chargepipe , midway in the vertical section in front of engine , it had blown off slightly.

Could this also given reason for the rich mixture faults earlier ?

Im putting it back together tomorrow and take it for a drive and see if faults are gone for good. Also I will go see a BMW guy to have him check the lambdas , if I need to start thinking of getting them replaced.

I would thing that would cause a "lean" code....

Fixed what looked to be a leak in the chargepipe. Still I get half enginge light and redused power.

I`ll go down and read off codes and see if its still underboost that is issue.

Car goes to a "pro" soon , needs to be looked at with fresh set of eyes.

Chargepipe had a section that was leaking , fixed - still getting engine light
Checked vacuum , used a vaccum pump with gauge on canisters , towards wastegate I got a quick -20 psi on both
Through canister and towards vacuum supply I had to pump like a mad man and gave up at 5 or 10 psi , when I pulled hose from canister , I heard the hiss , but it sounded like the hiss traveled towards oilfilter housing , curious if the plastic section for vacuum should be eliminated and use silicone all the way.

Other fault that I found during vacuum test was that the connector by windshield , going to brake booster , that was loose , reattached it and did my vacuum testing.

After this I did a test drive , my boost gauge reads -23 and stops at 0.0 and then half engine light

After I returned , I popped hood and pulled vacuum line from canister , hiss sound.

Any ideas ?

Garage List
Replace all lines with heat resistant silicone lines. Super easy and cheap.

I will try to find the thread right now.
