When I was in Australia a few weeks ago, there were so many 320d's - could not believe it. Definitely jealous!

You guys havent had the 320d????

Whenever I see another E9X (or even e46), 95% of the time it is a 320d or worse (18d/16d)
It just seems to be the default choice here. Makes my 325i still a little special!
Kinda explains why you US guys all drive 328i/335i!!

Sad that diesel cars are readily available in Europe but not in North America. I would love a diesel xdrive 3series

Has anyone done a current cost analysis of diesel vs. gas 3 series analysis? Taking into account all purchase/resale difference, service costs, consumable items? Scale-able mileage/yr model?

I'm interested in working on one if anyone else is.

I done one before buying my car.
I was comparing the 320d to the 325i (both used)

I came to the conclusion that to make the 1500 extra purchase cost back would take me 4 years of driving. (I only do about 10k)

The 320d's I was looking at also had many problems, such as turbos failing but more worryingly the timing chain snapping.
That combined with the d cars being lower spec and higher miles for more money sold me on the petrol.
