Disabling windows safety feature in 06 E90
I'm starting to get the handle of coding my E90 that was built on 10/06. I was able to code my retrofitted alarm and windows roll-up with key fob. However, I can't disable the windows safety feature. Once I open my door, the windows stop from rolling up. According to the coding spreadsheet, disabling the windows safety feature should work with my car. Has anyone had any success with disabling it in an 06 car?

Older e90 were lacking that feature. Do you have the string in FRM module?

Interesting. I did have the string in my FRM module, which I changed to not active. I didn't realize it's possible to not have the feature work even though it's string is present in the module.

If it actually is in FRM module and not in big 200kb TRC file then set it to nicht_aktiv.

just double checked my coding and everything seems to be correct. I just coded for my side mirrors to retract with the FOB to make sure I'm coding the FRM module correctly. I was able to get that to work properly.
Maybe I'm interpreting the feature incorrectly. I thought that when I disable the windows safety feature, the windows will continue to roll up when the car is shut off and the door is opened. Is this correct way this feature is supposed to work? In my car with the feature disabled and the car shut off, the windows stop rolling up once I open my door. ![]() |

Word of caution you can really mess up your window by closing door while window is moving.
I know it sucks to have the windows being rolled up and you go to jump out of the car too fast and it stops the process. But this is one that is a feature to protect the car and your wallet.... Take a deep breath use the time to pop a piece of gum or breath mint in and let the windows finish rolling up. |
