My E92 exhaust w/DP's clip...

Running full 2.5" exhaust with catless downpipes to Borla XR-1 mufflers...

i think it sounds raspy... but that might be caused by the camera....

btw you should do a dyno b4 and after the DP...

It is a little raspy... but once you put down pipes on this car you will have rasp... I think with any exhaust... The entire exhaust is straight thru now with no restrictions at all... Im going to wait for the V2.0 and FMIC install and then do a dyno... I dont want to toss $150 everytime i do a mod...

I second that, what is the difference in engine/turbo response? Did the DP give you an increase in interior resonance?

I'm thinking this is my next mod.

you're entitled to your opinion even if its a stupid one... There is more interior resonance and the turbos spool a little faster, the sound of the turbos is loud and clear though... Car feels much better in the top end mostly but im gonna get a dyno eventually so we will see what the gains were...

Umm.. that's what the motor sounds like. It's not a V8, any exhaust that sounds deep and rumbly sounds that way because it's compromising flow.

This is as open as the exhaust is going to get on this car without running open downpipes. This is what the N54 sounds like, get used to it. If you want a V8 sound, get an M3, if you cant afford an M3, I'm sure any toothless, mullet sporting Cletus can point you towards a bitchin, primer grey Trans Am.

I love it, sounds nice, sounds just like a TT inline 6 should sound. It's not a V8, why try and make it sound that way.

Sorry if this came out a little harsh, I just wish people would understand that this is how an inline 6 sounds. It's not a bad thing, I love the sound of Supra's or Gt-R's. Twin turbo inline 6's have a different sound, if it sounds "ricey" to you, you picked the wrong car. There are exhausts that sound deeper, but as I said, the only way to do that is to add resrictions. This post wasn't directed at you imparticular, so dont take it personal.

i think you misunderstood me when you tried to explain the performance gains again....i said the sound of it is like a fartcan, but i DONT DOUBT the performance gains, in simpler terms all go no show. You got so defensive from a simple misunderstanding, geez.

I got to question the realism of the recording. The camera's most of us have do not have good microphone's. I bet this car sounds better in real life. That being said, I don't think it sounds bad in the recording anyway. If you don't like the raspy tone, adding a straight thru resonator like this one will help a bit and really shouldn't decrease hp noticeably.

This is a 3" magnaflow that I had put on my S60R, but 2.5" is also made that would fit our cars.

No bro i didnt get defensive or pissed or anything, i just said the comment you said about the exhaust being a fart can was dumb... There are other ways of saying you dont like the sound of the car, Caddy Johnson is right though, this is the sound of the car with no restrictions and if you dont like it you will need to add resonators and different mufflers to suppress the sound and performance. Funny thing is the rasp sound is only between 2600-3400 rpm and after that it sounds good. Also there is not much drone with this exhaust setup, its way worse on the Eisenmann Race...
