Hi, Luther,

Would this include walnut blasting the manifold as well or only the valve cleaning & associated disassembly & reassembly? Also, at what interval do you suggest performing this?

Thanks!

Intake manifold? No... it's plastic and does not see any carbon buildup....it does not get blasted....only the section of the head where the intake valve resides.

Took my 535i to Luther @ Fleming in Hyattsville today. He did a great job and I learned quite a bit by watching him. Even though it's only been 25K miles since my last intake cleaning, there was considerable build-up on the valves in cylinders 5 and 6. The idle is much better now and the miss/hesitation I had under light and moderate acceleration is gone. I highly recommend him.

Not to sound like a total noob but is a walnut blast the same or as thorough as a intake cleaning job done at Clem? Just seeing if a walnut blast will get it just as clean as the pic shown above is. Sorry if it's a noob question.

I think Clem walnut blasts as well. PM him to make sure. Had RB's turbos installed at Clem's, exhaust, downpipes, and inter cooler. All excellent.

Nice to know Flemings is also a nearby option.

Is there any difference in this procedure between 335 gassers and 335 oil burners?

+1 for Luther at Flemings. Had my done a couple of weeks ago with 55k miles. My random misfire seems to have disappeared. Car runs great.

Luther also hooked me up with a great deal on new wheels (AG M550s).
