I will hopefully run the 15mm spacers all round for a very aggressive look, but watch this space as might be a bit to aggressive ( may need part ex on smaller spacers!). Going to run 255 and 235 so hopefully a subtle stretch on the tyre, then coilovers and possibly a bit if camber if required to clear arches!

Nice cars! I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I prefer the 335d over the M3. I dare say though the M3 WILL catch up once you've finished modding it.
I've often thought my ideal car would be a 335i\M3 combo, a tuned N54 petrol engine to give the low down grunt, real world pace plus lower running\fuels costs combined with the suspension\running gear and external looks of the M3. How did you go about converting the 335d to the M3 look? Is there a build thread? |

Wheels will look superb once mounted on the car Nick(see got your name right) that I'm sure of due to the fact that its a nice tidy unfussy design...which I like. I still miss my BBS CH's though
![]() which like a nice set of LM's is an epic wheel |

Both cars are beautiful, but I have to say that out of the two I prefer the look of the 335D. In saying that you havent started on the M3 yet!
![]() Where is your ad for the 335D btw?

Also with such aggresive offsets and the addition of spacers, you may effect what used to be called the KPI (scrub radius) which could negatively effect the handling. |

Probably right, but on the road don't think I'd notice the difference. If I was tracking it may be different! I thought when I added the spacers it felt more sensitive tbh in terms of feedback through wheel.

Anyway, wheel update. Mixed day tbh! Had 2 falkens for the front and bought 2 part worn contis ( very good tread at 6mm) so went to get fitted. Had decided I will get 2 contis to match the front but wasn't planning it today!
Anyway, went to my tyre place to get fitted and all good, except they did scratch one. Not on the face but as I'm running stretch on the inside. Bit annoyed but you can't see it and I have touched it back in black. On the way back I decided to run it through the car wash to get rid of tyre fitting white residue stuff. Don't normally use them but thought not to worried if get a few swirls on paint on this occasion. I'm sure one visit would nt do any harm! I was wrong. Got home and thought my front tyre looked flat. Checked it at garage and it was!? 10psi. Couldn't see anything wrong. Put some air in and thought I'd take some pics of wheels to update thread. Looked again and noticed a slash in the side. Put 2 and 2 together and went back to car wash. Looks like the chain that drags your car along ( the rivets) have cut my tyre due to the profile. Yes in hindsight stupid I know. Anyway filled in claim form, and we'll see. Maybe I may get a contribution to 2 new contis! Anyway clearly a stupid decision on my behalf and we'll see what happens! So, the pics suffered when I realised and had differing priorities ( eg going back to car wash) so sorry they are poor. Car looks great and pics don't do justice! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Still left on 15mm spacers. Back fine. Front may change for 12mm but only as it splatters c£&p up the side of the car all the time! Also went to see wrap man, so waiting for quote back. Last edited by NJ 1161; 11-13-2012 at 11:56 AM. |

Rims 10" rears with 255 and fronts 9" with 235. Both front and rear offset 20, but with spacers guess that would make them 5! ( 15mm all round) |

sounds like you've had a pretty s**t day but on a positive note the wheels change the car and looks awesome. Its amazing what a small mod such as wheels can do to a car.
Look forward to seeing some more mods being done Any idea as to what your gonna drop it on yet?

Indeed a mixed day Nick, I remember some years ago having new wheels put on only for the tyre fitter to damage the wheel when he fitted one tyre. A week or so later went back to have a bit of 4 wheel alignment done only for another guy to chip another wheel when hanging he gear off the rims so having agreed that one wheel needed doing after they fitted the tyres again the poor manager had to stump up a bit more for the second wheel.
Sadly these things do happen, one thing you cant do is blame yourself it's annoying and has the capability of really take the shine off an event which is the unveiling of your new wheels, which do look rather sweet I have to say but a car wash is accessible to all its there to provide a service sadly it's done you a bit of a disservice. But onwards and upwards keep on modding and look forward to the updates |

Dilemma, regarding drop. Budget (?!) set of coilovers ( bc racing a at £700) or intrax springs ( £200) only that give an ok drop? Looking at it only needs an inch so thinking springs may be ok? Just know i'll get springs then decide need coilies! Quote:

There's a few on cutters running intrax. Only worry is halfway through that thread he said thinking of getting coilovers. Keep thinking I'd like springs only then think I will get bored and need coilies! |
