Supporting mods to get...

I'm trying to get a list of supporting mods to get ranked by level of importance and value for the power increase. I'm definitely going to get the JB4 with WW Meth kit. I plan to spend a little over $1000 (parts cost only) on top of that with supporting mods. What would you folks recommend based based on importance? Meaning i don't wanna bother with a charge pipe with aftermarket BOV and meth bung if the OEM diverter valve is fine for 15+ PSI, i'd rather get a cheap silicone elbow from BMS. And BTW i don't want to change the OEM muffler.

So far i'm thinking DCI, CXRacing Intercooler kit, and BMS downpipes.

Ar design have some nice fitting DP's mate, thats a good option. As above BMS DCI, and if you want to get a FMIC to increase efficeny then do that.

ETS make a reasonably good one, AA has one, pretty much everyone lol.

I would go in order of

tune
FBO - dci, downpipes, fmic etc
meth

then get nasty and get RB's

JB4, DCI, Meth, Downpipes. You don't really need a FMIC with meth, stock CP/DV's are fine. Downpipes and DCI are a must with meth boost levels IMO

If you dont mind getting used
DCI 50-60
JB4 375-400
PLM or those other cheap downpipe...approx 200
meth kit 400ish

Although...it seems like there is always something calling for your money!!!

Just wanted you to know, if you do want to buy a set of BMS downpipes, their out of stock until around December 5th. They were suppose to restock them this month, but looks like it got delayed a bit longer. Also I think the BMS downpipes are going to be $400 when they restock, not the $329 intro price.

  • Tune of Choice
  • BMS DCI + DPs
  • AA 5" FMIC
  • TRUNK Mounted Meth (A leaky WW Meth Setup will turn your car into a match)

Idk if you DD your car, but I'd recommend the ER Full Charge Pipe w/ 2 Meth Bungs for you. You'll avoid the headache a lot of people have had with breaking their Charge Pipe at the TB Connection once you start running FBO boost

Thanks for your replies folks.

Never heard of VRSF before but just took a quick peek at their website. Looks like good stuff at greaet prices.

Seems that DCI and DP are the best supporting mods for JB4 and Meth. Those will be installed immediately with the JB4 and Meth. From there i'll probably get a FMIC installed. I work at a dealership and have access to the mechanics at a low labor rate and they probably won't want to deal with the FMIC and trimming and custom work. I wrench myself but why get dirty when you can pay a fraction of the price and have someone else do it.

I read a few people saying a 50/50 mix of meth and h2o isn't much of a hazard. Is this true? Of course i want to do it once the right way. If its a hazard, id rather do the trunk mount.

Price difference between a new JB4 and used JB4 is only about $100-150. If i can find a used JB4 with 15ohm resistor and G4 board, is there much difference between new and used? I've read about ISO boost and G5 board. Whats the difference?

Thanks again

2nd cat delete and put high flow muffler with built in X pipe 200
E85 mix. cheaper than 93 octane

a little more than your budget but for less than 1500 I'm running 11s pretty easily in a full weight E90 335i
