E90 lci halogen to xenon

Hi guys just wanted your opinion I can get a set of lci xenon headlights pair without bulbs and ballasts for 150 in good condition. A couple of questions can I get any d1s bulbs from eBay. How much would I be looking for the ballasts and the retrofit and the necessary wiring any help would be highly appreciated.

LCI side marker for xenon are very expensive.
OEM ballasts are expensive as well.
Cannot comment on D1S.

At the top of all that, you would require coding and FRM2---> FRM3 upgrade.
I have seen somebody doing it and he had to upgrade his FRM2 ---> FRM3 as well.

On the other hand 150 is excellent price.

Normally full kits go for 800 ish.

So with the coding etc you are looking at a very pricey option. And in all likelyhood one which you would struggle to get your money back on come resale time. I considered it briefly before deciding to get xenons on the next car!

I didn't realize bulbs and ballasts would be anymore than 3-400 hundred and ballasts are hard to find in the second hand market as buying new would probably be to much. So I am going to contemplate as obviously I would sell my lci halogens just wondering I would be able to recoup some money back.

They wont be more than 300 mate. You can buy new oem ballasts online from most of the hid websites. Bulbs can be had for about 50 quid. Youll need a new module and of course the labour to code it at an indy. Send member leman330d a message, hes your man for lci conversions. Hes done the lot

You may get away with other ballast, but get canbus error free if you plan to go down the after market ballasts.

I've just done the xenon conversion on mine went from pre Lci halogen to pre Lci xenons.

Did it the proper way with level sensors and changing footwell module.

I bought the xenons complete which makes life alot easier then having to source individual bits here there and everywhere.

Saying that I've gone a bit mad with upgrades and retrofits!!

Xenon upgrade, front pdc, CIC Nav, rear folding seats, electric performance steering wheel, auto fold mirrors, alpine hifi upgrade, OBD relocation!!!!
I'm fully loaded now

Must start my own thread I thinks!!
