Anyone running a Windows 8 Phone? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hi, I've just purchased an HTC 8X, which is refusing to play nicely with my Bluetooth connection in the 335i. Has anyone got one of the other Windows 8 devices, and if so, is it connecting properly?

The phone pairs fine, is listed as a paired device on idrive, but despite saying its connected, never syncs or allows calls to be made/received... As you'd expect the BMW Bluetooth compatibility list isn't much help

Trying to work out if the issue is HW (chipset) or SW (the WP8 Bluetooth stack).

So, step forward Nokia 820/920 owners if you're out there!

If i remember correctly i think i read that this is a bug with WP8. I believe there will be a fix available but not sure when. On the other hand you could call HTC to see if they have any info/fix towards it.

I'm also interested in this. I'm considering making a switch to the HTC Windows phone.

hate to bump an old thread...

my 8x pairs fine for calls. i'm on the old 2008 idrive that uses DVDs for navigation data.

i'm trying to figure out how to get music out of this thing without using the headphone jack. I want to be able to control my songs through the steering wheel. any ideas?

So pairing went fine and phone functions are working for you?

I got 2006 325 w/o iDrive, and my 8X does not work.
Did not have any issues with previous phones including last one, iPhone 4. I am thinking to try Lumia but if the issue is across all WP8 devices (OS related) will have to go back to iPhone

there shouldn't be an issue. our bluetooth should work the same. i don't think anything changed until '09

perhaps it is software update on the car's end that needs to be done?
