Wastegate rattle

Started the car up at lunch time after it had sat cold for 6 hours and noticed a metalic clattering sound. Oil was obviously cold so thought it could be tappets?

Does the wastegate rattle appear much at idle?

Could also be the exhaust flapper - on a cold start the extra exhaust gas can sometimes set it wagging.

Makes sense, it is quite a loud noise. Mine has been unplugged from the vacuum so the more i think about it, the more likely you are correct.
