ODBII port not connecting

Brought my car in to the dealer and removed my JB4.
this was for wastegate rattle.
they said there were too many codes to send to BMWNA (they were cool with the DPs as long as it didnt throw any codes)
i got a DPfix, put my JB4 in to delete the codes, then removed and installed the DPfix
they said they were unable to connect to the car now.
I removed the DPfix thinking that the one i bought (used) did not work and was the issue, but even with it uninstalled, i cant connect with a code reader or connect with my COBB (switched from JB4 to COBB while the JB4 was out)

the car runs fine, and the ODBII port powers scan readers, cobb etc.
i am going to test if with a JB4 in if with a laptop i can read codes or not.

assuming that the JB4 can read codes, it wouldnt be a bricked DME.
has anyone had an issue like this?
i am hoping some fuse blew or something.

I think that it needs some time to re-set after you clear all the codes and took your jb4 out. Maybe you need to complete a BMW drive cycle before you can hook an OBDII reader up.

This is the most likely reason. The system has to reach readiness before it can be read, and it has to complete a drive cycle before it will get to that point after you have cleared the codes.
