Just read this about the Volvo S60 Polestar on Jalopnik. The author asks if Volvo is the new BMW . Jalopnik is always hating on BMW, so no surprise there.

Might as be an article in tuner magazine. So for $2 million you can get a souped-up Volvo - I am not impressed.

The cost of the prototype was closer to $300,000 and Polestar sold 10 more to other customers willing to pay the same. The thing that interested me is the remark that these upgrades will be available at Volvo dealers. What the hell is Jalopnik talking about? If you read the list of upgrades to that car, that statement makes no sense.

I suspect they're going to have a Polestar ECU flash (good for +30hp) and some minor performance parts available at Volvo dealers.

It would be pretty sweet if Volvo made a purpose-built detuned version of the S60 Polestar for the masses (even if it cost upwards of $60k - $80k). Unfortunately, I read a report that states that a production version of the car would cost upwards of $155,000.

LOL volvo has a lot of potential, they have attempted to make fun small cars. But making one that could cost 60-80 or 100k+???

Why cant a company make a car like the mustang cheap a lot of power and fun.. the Frz looks cool but does not have a good amount of power. (it sounds really ricey too.)

60-80k is how much an M3 costs. If they made this a production vehicle pretty sure it would be an M3 competitor around similar pricing.

And I think you are talking about BRZ/FRS?
Why not just get the mustang since it suits your needs? rwd, 300hp/tq and low 20's.

They can't be the new BMW since they don't have any RWD cars. They could be the new Audi I suppose since they both have only fwd/awd platforms.

That being said they can be really fun cars. I had an S60R that was tons of fun and reliable to boot.

These cars cost an outrageous amount of money and upkeep is stupid.. So what if it competes with the BMW? Would you a die hard BMW fan buy a VOLVO over a BMW??

The new M3 has extremely similar qualities to a 1M and they are going to charge 20K more. All Im saying what happen to the 30 ta 40k performance cars. Can't imagine the day a M3 is in the 6 figure price range.

All i am asking for is more choses. Volvo might be coming out with a car and they want to price it in a very high price range.

I guess you have to pay to play lol.. Haha I did mean Frs.. Great car just low on power. Don't think I could drive a stang not really my style.
