Part-ex advice

Hoping someone can help.

Today i agreed to part ex my car to Porsche @ a fixed value but this evening i have been offered more money for the car.

Am i within my rights to cancel the part exchange part of my contract, providing i pay the agreed cash value?

I would just call them and ask but unfortunately Porsche dealers don't open on a Sunday

Mate you will get a better deal without the px anyway as they would prefer the cash rather than the car.
So try and get some more off the porche for a straight cash deal and your not obligated to give them your px no matter what as your the legal owner until you sign it over to them.

They will be more than happy to do a deal with no trade in unless they have a buyer lined up for your car, this is pretty unlikely.

I would ring them up and ask for best price with no trade in, should be better than you already have been offered.

Thanks for the advice

I'm sure i'd struggle with the better price/discount tbh, unfortunately for me the car was only up on there website for about 2 days before I viewed it so they didn't seem to keen on giving a large discount, on top of the fact it was lower mileage and £2k cheaper than any other approved 911 on porsche website.

Not that I won't try any way

I am a little concerned that they would become awkward as they have a large deposit from me. I didn't know whether the part ex forms part of the contract. I assume as long as I pay the total agreed sum I should be OK?

Defiantly no buyer lined up, intact they put a few stipulations on the trade in.

Ill defiantly give the 'all cash price' a go

I would make sure the New offer is solid before you start renegoitaiting. If it's 100% happening let them know at that point and then ask for the no trade in deal. If you have given a large deposit unlikely they will see it's in their interest to discount the car but on the flip side if you are going to walk with no new deal they would be a poor dealer not to give your money back a day after the deal.

Sounds like you were happy with the deal and now potentially better off so positive, but always worth asking for more.

On the subject of deposits never leave more than you want. Porsche asked me for 2,000 BMW 1,000. The most I have ever given them is 500 and most times I offer them 250 and that's the lot. They all just try it on so play them at there own game.

Thanks for the reply.

Pretty sure this deal is going through, buyer left a deposit and due to meet tomorrow early afternoon to complete.

I will call Porsche on Monday to let them know.

Exactly don't ask don't get... but yes i am happy with the deal, isn't the cheapest 911 going but had most of what i wanted at a price i could (just about) afford

At least it seems like the cash instead of car isn't going to be a problem. That was my main concern.

Good advice on the deposit..... unfortunately for me a little too late.... i assumed as it was the norm and stated on the paperwork that it was the only option. Not that it makes any difference as i have no intention of pulling out of the deal.

Thanks :-) can't wait to pick it up. Dream car for me..... Had to get the wife to help out with this purchase! The good thing was when we went to the dealership she said "I love that one" that one being a porsche 997 turbo so that's next on the list!

Shouldnt be a problem in fact they will prefer it as its easier for them less admin.

End of the day they get money in bank straight away. Done it many times agree a price then if you sell great if you dont you still get the new car. Best way to work especially if waiting for delivery of a new build car.

Congratulations, really like Cobalt blue, makes a refreshing change from the usual black, grey or silver you normally see. Not sure the aero spoiler would be my choice but that is just personal opinion.

What is the model, spec, and are you picking up this week? Have fun, collecting a Porsche is one of life's big pleasures so enjoy the day.

Thanks!

I'm not normally one for extrovert styling on road cars but I personally really like it on this car, in this colour i think it just adds something to the normally very understated carrera body styling. The wife much prefers the wider body and subtle-ness of the turbo.

It's a C2S, Porsche performance exhaust, manual, factory aero, design wheels, upgrade stereo, ocean blue interior, heated seats. Can't remember what else.

Really need it ASAP now I am without a car. Calling the dealer this morning to see what they can do. Not sure how long they need really. They claim to have already serviced it on the day I went to view.
