High RPM misfire

So my car keeps going into limp mode if I try to go over 6200 RPM in 3rd gear or higher. I'll get a misfire code but I don't think the car is actually misfiring, the DME is more likely cutting fuel which is causing the misfire codes.

It is still happening after replacing all hardware, plugs, coils, injectors, O2's, compression test, reset adaptations, replaced cam sensors, walnutshell blasting, checked rectaring, checked DME, running out of options and getting very frustrated.

Every time that I reset my adaptations the car runs like a champ all the way to redline without any limp mode or check engine light. If I park the car and let it sit for 30 min it goes right back to limp mode at 6200 rpm.

The problem is electrical, does anyone know what adaptation values are cleared when resetting adaptations on these cars.

I'm having the same issues and changes many of the same things you changed. I am so so frustrated. Ready to remove my JB4 and see if I still get the issue or if a different code is triggered. Mine always says Cylinder 4 Misfire.

Same thing here, no other codes except cyl 5 misfire, is everyone automatic? ive yet to see any issues with manual trans

Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem and its really a pain in the ass. I'll get to the bottom of it sooner or later but I was hoping someone knew what the adaptations process entailed with these cars specifically.

Automatic here! I ran logs with my JB4 and sent them to Terry a while back. He told me to keep an eye on my LPFP and I have been. It is not performing near par right now. So, I am going ot replace my LPFP sensor first. If that doesn't work I will replace my LPFP.

I know I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but buy the FFTEC inline booster pump. I was getting LPFP codes running 60+% Ethanol and after putting the booster pump in I'm running 80% Ethanol without any issues. I know Terry did the pump replacement, but that's not enough to fix the LPFP issue with high Ethanol content. Anyway, good luck with getting this resolved. I know tmo335tt has spent a lot of money. I would be doing back flips in anger if my car was doing what his is doing.

I did purchase the FFtec LPFP but I don't have it yet.

The thing that is bugging me is how the car can run perfect for a little while when I reset the adaptations.

Hmmm, which adaptation? or do you reset them all? Try one at a time and see what you get. Also, I would get over and have Shawn put the pump in ASAP. The car could be seeing a fuel surge or pressure drop at that RPM, but only after adaptation does it code.

+1 Mike is the person you need to talk to. Trust me, I was optimistic and when they told me the price I had to think about it, but after running without any issue what so ever this weekend I couldn't be happier.

With the Autologic computer that I used I just reset all of them. I didn't see any options to individually reset, if I could it would be a lot easier to trace my problem.

Try the PROcede resets. See if that does the job.

I was having some misfire issues last night, but it was 30 degrees outside. I did notice if I went 3/4 throttle, or even 7/8th throttle keeping my boost just a hair lower I had no issues at all. I know I shouldn't have to "drive around" the issue, but it seems like it would only act up during higher boost instances. I still need to try all the usual moving coil packs and changing plugs (although the plugs are only 5000 miles old).

I used to have the same problem. I changed spark plugs, coils, injectors, but it didn't help. Misfires went away after I switched from Rev2 to Rev2.5 and uploaded new maps.

Swap the coils for sure, although if it's all throttle percentage/boost threshold it sounds like the spark plugs have kicked the bucket. As soon as my car hit 30 degree weather this past week, it started breaking up with similar symptoms. What tune and what kinda boost? Which cylinder is misfiring and does it move(assuming it's throwing a SES).

On a related note, Greg is that you?
