Suspension
After having my 330D for a couple of months I think its time to start planning some upgrades, I think my first point of call is the suspension, with it only being an SE its very wallowy in the corners and seems very soft.
Firstly would I be able to stick the M sport suspension on? (purchased from Euro Car Parts) and would this make it a bit stiffer (don't want a track car) or what would be a reasonable upgrade springs or struts or both? on a tight budget so any help would be appreciated. |

whats your budget roughly mate?
eibach springs on a SE would make a good difference, IMO it becomes better to handle, can chuck it into corners with a little more confidence and stiffens the ride! not too much...but you will notice it! (had these before i changed to coilovers) Or...a few of us have just fitted BC coilovers which are adjustable with adjustable dampers too! ![]()

the m sport suspension is slightly lower therefore would need to be stiffer! so i would say yes it will stiffen up the ride and give you a little drop!
i still say for the price worth going for the eibachs but each to their own ![]()

I have a spare msport suspension with only 3k miles on it, happy to sell you that with a saving on whatever you find it for elsewhere. But as im sure plenty of members on here will advise you msport suspension isn't the best it's probably worth saving up a bit and looking elsewhere.

Ive got the Bilstein B12 kit fitted to my SE E92. It's Bilstein dampers with Eibach pro springs. Costs about £650 from Larkspeed or other sellers. The handling is now fantastic, plus its the perfect ride height for day to day use

I'd agree with P5UML on this. Eibach springs are best value for money. The m sport suspension is really not great the body roll is way too much. Ok eibach is stiffer but looks and performance wise it's miles better.
Cheap mod considering the difference it makes without spending on coilovers.

Bilstein B12
I to went with the Bilstein B12 kit and am very happy with it. Lowers the car nicely with a good stance with decent wheels and spacers applied.
The ride is much more responsive now, yet doesn't feel crash at all. I think the overall feel is more comfortable than my original SE suspension, although that might be cos it had done 80k. I would def recommend the bilstein kit if you're looking to replace springs and shocks without compromising the ride. There's a video on youtube comparing the eibach spring options on a 3 series bmw. Helps when considering which spring to go for. |

another option to think about...if you are thinking of spending around the £650 mark on Bilstein etc...
i just paid paid £675 for BC Coilovers from Teddy @ SSDD - fully adjustable with adjustable dampers! cant go wrong for that price and you can set the ride to as hard/soft as you want, 30 way adjustable!!! ![]()
