Will this USB update work on my 2010 E90 M 335i? My firmware still says 2010 so I think I'm due for an update...

As I understand he needs to have the maps himself before he can generate the FSC code using your VIN. He indicated he was waiting to get his copy of the maps before he would begin providing the codes.

Just got my FSC code for 2013 Maps today from Sergej! Waiting on the USB stick to come in from Tischer and will report back....

Yes I sure hope so...I told him 2013 North America Maps and that I had ordered the 2013 maps, sent him pmt and my VIN and he responded back with my FSC; he didn't say anything about it so I'm assuming he had the 2013 maps...we shall see.

Mine is also "on order" from Tischer - ugh.

Thanks for the follow-up! My car is running 2009-1 so I am desperate for an update! I'm so sick of running into roads that don't exist on the map/in real life. Lol but from what I understand, since my build date was 09/2008 and I have the professional version CIC, I'll have to install from DVDs?

I'm in the same boat. Car was built in September of 2008 and I'm running old maps and there has been a lot of road work in my area. Would love to update them but I'm not sure how to go about it.

As long as you have CIC and not CCC, I believe you should have the USB slot in your glove compartment where you can upload the maps via USB stick. Do you have CIC (hard-drive based) or CCC (DVD based)? I may be mistaken...

I bought the code from him last night as well. My USB is in the mail currently. I am hoping to get it before the end of the week. I will let you guys know when I get it and confirm it all works.

I've read a lot of mixed advice lol. I have the hard drive based CIC, but apparently, it's the updated 80GB one that gives you 12GB for media vs the old. Someone linked a thread above about how to do it, but I've also read that USB will work if plugged into the port under the centre armrest? It looks like it's going to be a trial and error thing. I have a 12 hour drive in 2 weeks, so I'm hoping I'll be able to do it then

09 LCI E90 build dates are from 09/2008 and up. Mine is a 09/2008 build and I can update with USB. I did the upgrade to 2012.

I want to know why Tischer says on their website that:

"*CIC equipped vehicles up to 9/2009 require FSC Code + a visit to your local BMW dealership for media upload. (code will be emailed, and shipping charge will be removed)"

I wonder if the 2013 updates are different than the 2012 updates to the maps. I mean, I don't see why not, but they have specified a difference in the CIC versions (HDD based).

Is it a firmware thing? HDD size?

would love to know this as well. I have a build date of 11/08. i have the new idrive controller with the buttons. Also have the usb in the glovebox as well. I would really like to just update on my own and not have to go to the dealer.

I just cant believe map updates are this expensive when garmin has lifetime updates for free with most of their devices. Integrated GPS is soo overpriced. Glad to see the F30s you get the screen and idrive without needing navi.

Well I got my USB drive today and started the update. The FSC code I got from Sieras5 worked flawlessly!! I have copied the files from the USB and will look in to how to do a Torrent. If i get it working I will let everyone know.

Has anyone with late 2008 build date successfully updated through USB yet? I did ask Tischer (in fact I am kinds of local to them) and they said that I couldn't. But my local dealer (Sterling BMW) won't do anything programming/software related on Saturdays so either I have to drive up to Silver Spring (if Tischer will even do it) or else do it myself, unless I can get someone to give me a ride to work which is a PITA.

I'm still running the 2009/1 maps so I desperately need an update. Worst part is that I was just in the dealership last Wed. getting my alarm and satellite tuner coded in in prep to drive home for Thanksgiving, had I known that I wasn't going to be able to do the map updates myself I would have set it up for them to do those at the same time as well. D'oh!
