Lovely car, can you not get your dealer to sort out the wheels under the AUC warranty??

Will people please stop wafting gorgeous M3's for sale in front of my nose - too tempting!!! If was in the market for an M3, I'd have this, and even wave my desire for a manual car and give this a whirl. A lovely looking car, and obviously looked after so mileage isn't a problem, so GLWS.

You get a Free bump on me

i add my 2p's worth ...

I have a sproglet myself .. and my number 1 concern was safety for my kiddiwinkle and while everyone was running around falling over themselves ditching their 2 door coupes and alike for toyota previas and VW sharans because it was 'Family Orientated' I kept on with my 2 door ( i'm not saying what it was because it was a loooong time ago !)

Now as it was 2 doors , it didn't have any windows for kids to play with or break
It didn't have door handles to be pulled .. what there was , was a nice cocooned space. Ok , it's a bit of a chew getting in and out but if you have 2 cars , buy 2 car seats and leave the one permanently in , also you have a nice function of winding the windows down on the keyfob , so all you have is 12-18 months of getting your lifeform in and out of the car , as soon as they can crawl .. you get them to get in and out themselves.
Plus you get to be the cool dad when you rock up swimming meets and other such events in your M3.
Life with a decent sports car doesn't have to end because you have a family for a very small amount of aggro you get to keep your beast.. just sayin

Nice car BTW and GLWS if you have not been convinced otherwise !

To a point I'll go along with the man with the oOos.

If only one car for the family is the situation then fair enough, something a little more practical may be required. If your other half has access to a vehicle then don't get rid of the M3. My youngest is only 17 months old and for a while now he's been quite capable of helping daddy get him out of a car seat in the back. My wife has a Touran which is the family bus but for the last six weeks I've had a Mini courtesy car and ignoring the lack of luggage space I can get him in and out of it quite easily when I've had to ferry him about. Harry (4 and a half) just goes in the front with the airbag off.

Fair point guys, although the aim is also to release some funds for a bigger house as some savings are tied up in the M3...

I actually traded in the missus's 3 door fiesta and bought a 5 door mk6 golf 1.6tdi blue motion a couple of weeks ago. Which I have to say is actually a very good car and there is something satisfying with only giving the government 20 for road tax for a year and doing nearly 60mpg on a run (call it me balancing out my carbon footprint!!)

im going to look at a mk6 golf match blue motion (0 tax & 68mpg) this week as the e93 is a bit impractical for getting the 9mth old in & out of day to day.
would you recommend one?

I'm with the cool Dads too. My E92 was perfectly able to satisfy a family with one child, with an ISOFIX base in the back you just swing them in, get it right as it clicks right into place (quite satisfying!!). The windows going down on the keyfob a real plus point if some twat had parked too close next to you. The standrd fit split-fold seats were great too. I swapped to an E90, luckily someone had tipped me off about split-fold seats not being standard on an E90 so held out until I found one with the option ticked, otherwise I'd have really struggled with the E90 - still found the longer boot more useable in the E92. Obviously the Zed is pushing the limits of practicality (especially with 2 kids now) but my devious plan worked by getting the missus a QQ+2 .

Anyway, all this bollocks doesn't help you, apart from a free-bump, but at least you've owned an M3 whereas I haven't (yet ).

Can I mention the BMW 320 ED which is also 20 pound tax and gives me 59 ave mpg which is great for a premium saloon.

A very, very nice car with exactly the spec I would be looking for (except possibly black on black but I could live with that.)

Shame it's not the right time for me, but I am sure if anyone was looking, this would be a good one!
