Chargepipe help! - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Ive been researching the issue and hope that some one can give me some advice!

So I picked up an ER chargepipe from N54tuning. Mike really lives up to his reputation of amazing customer service.

Anyway, I took my HKS BOV off the UR chargepipe it was initially on. Reused the retainer clip and O ring to install it on the ER chargepipe. Everything works fine except the fact that the BOV can rotate freely without much force. It was tight solid on the UR chargepipe. I already talked to Mike and he suspects a fake BOV or a bad retainer clip. Any other ideas on what it could be? Car is running fine and its holding boost all the way to 15.8psi. Im just not sure if air may be escaping from the BOV. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

BTW...I have a e92 335i. I'm running a Cobb AP Stage 1 Aggressive tune with no other engine mods besides Er chargepipe, HKS BOV, BMS DCI, and performance exhuast.

Log your waste gate duty cycles and see if they are maxing out to near 100%.

There are a lot of fake HKS Bov's.

Whether that is your problem is irrelevant though, it needs ot be solid on the pipe or it is likely leaking. The HKS flange on the ER charge pipe is good, so it may be a bad seal/ o ring or retaining clip, as mike said.

Like I mentioned a new o-ring will probably fix the issue. I assume you used the old one from the previous setup.

Thanks guys. I ordered a new o ring and retainer clip. Hopefully it solves the issue.
