Alcohol consumption... whats yours?

Considering myself and NFS are drinking quite a bit between us tonight it got me thinking, of alcohol consumption and health etc

im no where near 6ft and im very light so it dosent take much drink to get me pished

but i do drink abit on fri and sat nights when i get the chance and the odd drink midweek also

one minute they tell you its healthy to drink a drink everynight now i hear it can give you bowl cancer?!

what the hell is it all bout

how much do you guys drink??

on a alky week i would have

mon-fri 5 cans mayb of a weak lager, if im going clubbin (something us youngsters do you know) i will get smashed which to me is 3-4 pints of beer and then onto girly drinks like 2-3 smirnoff or WKD drinks

or even a few shots!!!

on a week where im on nights i hardly drink anything

what about you guys?

When I was at university I used to drink a bottle of thunderbird wine before I went out just to get in the mood then up to 10 pints of stella.

My friend Big Tony once drank an authenticated 30 pints in one days session.

Tuesday afternoon was the irish centre - pound a pint all day.

Ten pound was all ya needed - happy days.

When I was around 25 I just stopped being able to handle large amounts of alcohol and I've never been able to drink much since .. without serious hangovers.

Having said that .. if I allowed myself I could easily drink a bottle of wine a night every night ... and have done in the past.

Carkey, if even cutlery can get cancer these days, then obviously, we're all well & truly forked!

I don't think bowls are cutlery Viv - surely they are crockery

If I glued a fork onto a plate, would I be considered to be making a mockery of the crockery?

Either that or we would think you were into particularly unfunny practical jokes.

I had a lovely set of willow pattern pasta dishes that we had to bin because of bowl cancer.

I believe it can be caused through the use of cheaper dishwashers (I recommend Bosch) and it's real tragedy.

Well, as practical jokes go NFS, I have organised three UK meets, so far- & I think they've all been pretty hilarious!

I've not yet had a single piece of crockery succumb to the bowl cancer- only time will tell, I suppose.

However, others have not been so lucky- shame.

I'm with needforspeed on this one... University days were the days for drinking!

We used to frequent a club that did Bud bottles (33cl) for 50p a bottle, so we used to buy them by the case (which came straight out of the fridge). Then it was Schnaps and the god almight tequila shots!

From the night of finishing my finals I have the some what dubious record of drinking a bottle of tequila, 12 pints of Boddingtons, 3 traffic lights and (god knows why) some Baileys!!!!

Thankfully that's it all out of my system. I'll have a few cans of lager in the garden in the week if it's nice, but mainly enjoy a decent bottle of wine these days

Ah! Baileys Chasers, now that reminds of me of many work xmas parties. And the most violent hang-overs ever. I once substituted Baileys for 'Dubliner' an equivalent liqueur, so I was told. I have never been so violently ill in my life.

When I finally got home I had the unfortunate 'dire' urge to and ended up putting my hand over my mouth whilst running to the bathroom. Unfortunately the pressure was like that of a garden hose and I 'sprayed' the contents all over the stairs carpet. I never did get the stains out. Horrible stuff, should be banned

I think it's a more appropriate and descriptive name ... and since sales were so bad anyway it could only have helped.

The odd glass of champagne at new year. Maybe a glass of wine once every two or three months.

Last time I got plastered was, three or four years ago.

I've never driven a car with alcohol in my blood. Not even a little.

I average 5-6 pints a week (pub) and probably the same at home. Maybe a bottle of wine if I'm in the mood. Cut down a lot from my earlier years.
