Autozone Exhaust Gasket

I seen several posts mentioning that for $2 Autozone sells the same exact bomb proof that AR and others sell for $$$. I've been to three different Autozones and without a part number, the dudes behind the counter won't even help me.

Who knows what the Autozone part number is for the 2 bolt 2.5 inch exhaust gasket?

Thanks

Just FYI, our gaskets are custom made for us, so no one but us carries our exact gasket.

Just get the DP flange size & match it up. If you're having trouble, just order the BMS, AR or any other BMW-company's replacement gaskets

Those gaskets are $28 after shipping. I'm trying to save money.

Autozone has them for $2. I just need the part number.

i don't know the part#, but I took the OEM gasket and AR DP into autozone and they pulled some gaskets in the back to match it. Probably not exact, but close enough for me.

Thats what I was trying to do at the store, but the guy wouldn't let me behind the counter to look and he wasn't going to waste time doing it for me.

Google next time -- The gasket size description is right on AR Design's website

Quote:
Features a 2 1/2" internal diameter, unlike the 2 3/8" internal diameter factory gaskets. If you are using an aftermarket cat-back, this is especially important!

Is that a paper gasket?

Anyways, I'll contribute the hook-up for new hardware...

Fastenal can order these parts individually, so you don't have to buy them in packs of 25 and 100:

DOWNPIPE HARDWARE

(2) M8-1.25 x 40mm DIN 931 Class 10.9 Yellow Zinc Cap Screw

(2) M8-1.25 DIN 934 Yellow Zinc Finish Steel Class 10 Hex Nut

(4) 5/16"/M8 Delta Protekt Nord-Lock Bolt Securing Washer/Pair (.530 outer exterior)

This is the same stuff you get directly from AR, but for 1/3 the price.

The autozone part number for that gasket is 9547. They cost $1.69 each and most stores have them in stock.

Typical BMW deuchebag response.

It's a simple gasket. Use the one you want.

not trying to start anything but if you have a high performance vehicle why skimp on a gasket to save a few dollars? Just my opinion...your car, do what you like.

The fasteners yes (great find), but the gaskets AR uses are the best IMHO.
