My meth kit has been pretty solid since I installed it with the only issues with flow sensor...Today went for a nice run in the morning and went I went back to the garage, I checked my meth system for leaks...Well I had a leak that looks to be for a while as there was dried up meth residue on one side of a T-fitting that I had...I have been meaning to switch out this push T fitting for awhile and install a compression fitting T but never got a chance until today...

Just a reminder for people running meth that these systems are not fail proof and needs to be checked constantly. Running meth is no joke and especially running higher concentrations.

Ive never really researched meth systems, as i cant afford it right now, but how do you refill and how much does it cost? Do you order it online? Mix a solution?

I normally go through 1 gallon of water/meth mix per fuel tank. However, with any tune it's simple/fast enough to just switch maps to conserve meth and make it last a lot longer than that.

You can source pure methanol from just about any chemical supply company. Also, methanol is commonly used as fuel for dirtbikes and ATVs so most powersports supply stores usually carry it.

I dont have my meth system on all the time...I have it wired to a ON/OFF switch. I only use it when I want to go FAST! lol I have a 3 quart tank but it last pretty long as I am not on meth constantly and only use it sparingly...I check my meth system all the time but this one leak I guess I must have missed, but then again those damn push fittings suck balls. I got that addressed now with a compression fitting and that sucker is not going to leak from the T-fitting anymore

find a local supplier of M1 methanol. Mine sells it for $5.90/gallon and you mix it with -20F ww fluid ($1.69/gallon) 50/50 by volume, which is 65/35 meth/water by weight.

Total cost for me for the mix $3.80/gallon

Doesn't hurt to shop around locally for the best prices.

Installed new compression T-fitting for my dual nozzle setup along with new meth lines that run from the flow sensor to the T-fitting and tested it this morning...No leaks at all Best thing to do is when you take out any meth lines from any fitting is too cut a new tip or what I do is change out the entire line as maintenance...Meth lines tend to be brittle from all the heat and cold it endures. System is back up 100%.

Boost juice is what I use as an additive to my pure methanol which I am using roughly a 90/10 mix..It gives the meth/water mixture a pinkish color which helps to spot leaks as it will show up pink on a towel or if there is a leak for a while it will dry up with a pinkish deposit. I only use it just for this purpose to show leaks...Pure methanol is clear and if a leak is present, the likelihood of spotting it is not as good as if there was a color to it. Thats how I was able to spot my leak from my push T-fitting..Those fittings really suck ass...I have many more fittings to replace that I bought, but I still havent gotten a chance to change them out..

That's exactly what I do. Use boost juice as an additive for colour. A while back, had a leak as well and noticed it due to the pink colour. I don't have any push fittings in my system now and all has been great.

One of the few main reasons I went with the Aquamist HFS-4 kit and the Howerton trunk mounted tank was not to be worrying about leaks. I did pay more but that upfront cost is also there for the peace of mind not just its best quality. I certainly did not want to constantly be checking for methanol in and around my car. I just wanted to fill up and go and so far for the last few months its been 100% trouble free. I just fill up the tank and go. When the level is low the failsafe gets a signal from the level sensor that is mounted on the tank which tells me to make a short trip over to Home Depot and fill up

Even though you do have the best system on the market, You still need to check the system as meth lines still get brittle from heat and cold and for those that deal with harsh winters, the salt on the roads are killer for the meth lines.

Actually I am running the hfs-4 with a trunk mounted tank. My leak was around my fast acting valve. As mentioned, still check for leaks.

Methanol should be checked quite frequently. I was checking mine a few times a week. It doesn't matter what kit you have, it will need to be checked. Parts fail and it is inevitable in this world.
