Wet Passenger Floorboard

Hey I couldn't find a straight answer but I was hoping I could get some help...

After a hard rain or car wash water leaks from under the dashboard and under the floorboard on the passenger side. Dealership said it probably has something to do with the sunroof drain (which is what I've heard from multiple people) and quoted about $1200 to fix it no matter what.

Any ideas what could actually be wrong and any way to fix it myself?

Try these threads. You might have the same problem that I've had. Good luck.

it could also be a problem with your windshield cowl allowing water to pass underneath into the area underneath the air conditioning microfilter. from here it runs into the intake for the blower motor fan and then causes corrosion on the motor (it will squeal at low speeds and eventually fail), then the water falls onto the carpet under the blower motor inside the car.

if it is this, you could remove the microfilter cover and take a peek down there with a flashlight and look for wetness after it rains.
