Exclamation Warning light - Transmission?

For a while now I've had what looks like a warning light, next to the selected gear indicator. I've found a picture online and circled the warning triangle which I mean.

For the last two weeks I've been noticing that the gear changes have been getting worse, especially at low speed, where the car seems to rev high but not change gear, then will change 5 seconds late and surge forward.

I've noticed what looks like oil in my parking space at work, however i've only recently been given this new parking space, so it could be from a previous vehicle.

Anyone know a) what the light is and b) what the issue could be?

Cheers

EDIT: As stated, this picture is from the internet. My car's actually on 70k miles, not sure if this is a common issue for 56 plate 330D Automatics?

You should have a little up/down toggle switch on one of the stalks on the left side of your steering column. Press it up until you get to Check Control in your instrument cluster, and the press the button on the end of the stalk; you can then cycle through any error messages to see what the notification is for.

I've done that, the only errors I get are two front sidelights out (as they have LED bulbs in) and two rear fog lights, as they've both gone :/

This symbol has been on since summer, but I couldn't find anything saying what it was so assumed it was normal.

The symbol means there's a check control message for you to see, so it's probably going to stay there until the bulb errors are resolved or coded out. For your transmission, you might throw a piece of cardboard or something under there to see if it is yours that's dripping, to avoid a diagnostic fee if it isn't.

Ah right, so that warning will always be there?

I've parked in a different spot than normal tonight, so will see if there's any leaking tomorrow.
