Another ABS light, yellow brake light... Well, you know the rest

I've got some lights that all point to a bad ABS module. Hendrick BMW pulled the codes for me and I really picked a bad time to forget my service info/receipt. I always take them and put them in a file. The guy said something about it being for a wheel speed sensor, and that based off of that information he thought it was the ABS module. I figured he was probably right, but a minute ago I was sitting here and I realized that there are definitely codes for a bad unit. Does that sound right to you? Also is there any way to actually test the module and see if it's functioning before I install a new one and pay to have it coded? I've got a part on order but if I test it and it's working I'll cancel that order.
