probably isn't going to hurt with regular maintenance.
Ideally there shouldn't be any fine particulate matter in your methanol, and if using RO/DI water ito cut the methanol should have 0 Total dissolved solids, However the world is far from ideal. Running an additional filter that does 5-15 microns, will keep chunks of junk out of the combustion chamber. Over time this may impede methanol flow if not serviced.

I run a meth filter from Aquamist...Better safe then sorry. I also have one of those BS filters on the nozzle itself also..

Nothing wrong with the inline filter but be sure to check up on it every 3000 miles. I'd only run one if I had an appropriate failsafe/flow sensor.
In a worst case scenario, the filter gets clogged and you have no meth flow, without a flow sensor you won't know. These meth pumps are strong, if it failed, it was failing eitherway. A small filter is not enough restriction to over work these pumps. |
