Cant get frosted lens on front dome light back on

I took off the frosted lens on the front dome housing to put some LEDs in, but now I cant get the damn lens back on. I've tried every variation of putting the front or back of the lens in first and pushing on the other side. No matter what I do or how hard I push on the damn thing it wont go back into place. Anyone got any ideas on how to get this thing back on?

One of the sides clips in first. I believe its the side closest to the hood. If you dont clip the correct side in first it will not fit. Angle the frosted glass and ease the frOnt side in place. Then level out the piece and clip the rest in. Hope that helps

I clip the front in first(closest to windshield) ...then snap in the rest.

It seems like there are four clip points on the back of the lens furthest from the windshield. I can get three clipped in, but the one area with the small plastic tab on the lens will not go in no matter how hard I press or in what order I clip em in. I might just end up leaving it like that if I cant get it in in the next few tries.

Frosted lens are tricky. First clip one side which hasnt got any clips, its like one big plastic thing, then clip the other side which has 3 clips.

They just clip in from the front first then push in from the center out.

I hate to bring this back from the past but I still can't seem to get it in all the way and its sooo annoying. I've managed to get the clips near the sunroof in, but the side close to the windshield is completely loose. No matter how hard I push up, no luck

I found the same problem and it was due to the fact that I put in too large a bulb and the inner edge of the lens hole was hitting the bulb, it is very tight. I ended up putting in a completely flat led,

If you guys take off the whole housing, and then try to put the frosted lens back on, it will be muchh easier.

1. Undo the screws in your sun visor.

2. Drop headliner and unclip the dome housing.

3. Put on the frosted lense.

4. Reverse.

I found it extremely hard to put the frosted lens back on whole the dome housing was in the headliner, but once i took it out, it was an easy 5 seconds.

I'm sorry but that is over kill , and not neccasary. Use a credit card to remove to frosted cover and make sure the bulbs you install do no hit the inner edge of the cover when reinstalling, it's that simple,

Ooh... good idea, I will check if my LEDs are touching the inner edge.

This morning I was able to snap in the outer right and left side (closest to the sunroof) but the middle is still protruding out.

Start from the windshield and then start snapping in the right side and then the front, leaving the left side last. I found that was the only way I could get it back on.

I have the same problem with my E92 335i coupe...But was able to snap in back in place :-) ..After several gentle attempts..avoiding not to break any tabs...I started with whole edge close to the windshield and pressed counter clockwise around the edges (make sure the frosted lens is aligned and a little flushed)...I was really getting frustated on my last attempt, that i was willing to break some tabs and buy a new frosted lens cover instead..But hold and behold..it snapped back in place !!!...i remember pressing along the edge in between the switches and hear it snap back in place...Hope it works with all you :-)
