hey guys i want to either get some alcantara wrap as a group buy from somewhere or maybe it would be fun to get some people together and get a group buy and then we can install it together. everyone does the carbon fiber trim. granted it looks nice, i want something different. i want it to look like this:

I don't know if east coast has Jo Ann Fabric store there but $40 for material and DIY at home. My buddies here did it themselves (for the trim). Same process as CF wrapping.

I believe it is, when I searched, that was the only single type of black suede, do it! Much cleaner, sportier and luxury looking. Just don't get it dirty.

Whose car was this from anyway?

be sure the one you get is for automobile use or you run the risk of UV fading the material and it looking terrible after some time.

yea real alcantara is highly fade resistant, i bought fake alcantara online and its faded in about a year, its still dark but it got much lighter. i still have around 5 yards of it since i planned on doing the headliner

LOL came across this thread, that's my car. Material i bought is from the only real Alcantara dealer in US from FL, Gulf fabric. $100 a yard when i bought mine 2 years ago. not sure what's the price now. true on the fade resistance, real alcantara won't fade while those on Jo Ann will fade after it sees about 9 months under the sun. and those from Jo Ann is much thinner. the real alcantara is very thick and is made for automotive use.

thank you for telling me where to get it. how did you get it to stick on to the trim? like a spray adhesive or something? thanks

sure, not a problem.

i used 3M 77. it worked the best. i tried 3M 80 but not as great as 77. just like doing regular wrap, spray on both surface and smooth it out. but just be careful cuz once they stick on, it's very hard to rip them apart and you do not want to ruin it cuz material isn't cheap. the wrap around parts and the corners need more patient since they are not as stretchable as the other CF wrapping material. and also you do not need to leave too much extra in the backing. i left about 1/2" the most. since it is very thick, the more you leave in the backing will yield a hard time to put the trim and the air vents back in flush. hope those tips help.
